In what way is the core Democratic party remotely more left wing than Obama was? They are probably more conservative.

So you want a dictatorship instead of a 3 branch government?

Look at Obama's speech on getting rid of waste and abuse. Now look at current Democratic response to what is going on now. Schumer made an attempt at compromise and look at the Democrat response to him.

How is it any different than the pubs hating Romney or McCain? The right is far right and the left is far left. That's why everyone is miserable.

I hate both sides. They are all full of crap and they all only want 1 thing: Power. Once they get it it's a gravy train. Once people realize "their side" is dirty also it usually makes people call out the hypocrisy on both sides.

What part of Obama's speech endorsed an unelected billionaire ransacking the government and illegally firing people? The parties have been colluding to shrink the government for decades, since Reagan - sucesfully. I dont think I've ever heard any Democrat say they want to "drown government in a bathtub" and some of the more fringy stuff conservatives have said for decades as they still railed about the size of government even as it was diminishing. Republicans simply decided the death by 1000 cuts approach was too slow, and see a chance with Trump to do all the things they've only fantasized about when constrained by law, the need to get Democratic buy-in or public opinion in general.

Do you think the approach Obama was suggesting was having Silicon Valley tech bros (being paid max compensation by the way) without any institutional knowledge waste time and money on a bunch of shenanigans instead of brining in actual experts with a restructuring plan?

No, it wasn't and his approach accomplished little to nothing as well.

You mean other than actually shrinking the deficit and reducing government employment? My entire life Democrats whole thing is selling themselves as doing all the things Republicans want to do better. These are parties in agreement on almost everything, philosophically. Everyone is a Reaganite now. As far as I can tell the biggest institutional Democratic critique of Trump and MAGA from people like Schumer/Obama/etc as that they are rules breakers and procedural radicals. This was my whole point about people getting bored of death by 1000 cuts.

The far left never liked Obama, but I feel like most Democrats like him and would have nominated him again in 2024 if they could have.

So he did something to reduce government spending. Would you say that inflating the value of an $8 million contract to $8 billion and saying that you saved $8 billion is a good way to accomplish reduced government spending?

Still waiting for the link comparing what Obama did with Elon Musk's chainsaw approach in which he and his boys cut government programs with total disregard of the consequences.
