It will be interesting to see what the results of the investigation are. It is possible that Tesla had “banked” the credits and decided to cash them in once they heard the fund was running out of money.

The Canadian government unlike the US government is not bought and paid for by Elon Musk. Since Trump was elected every investigation of Tesla the one by the NHTSA of Tesla's autonomous driving system coming immediately to mind have or will disappear. Make mistake about Musk is getting a real return on his $277 million investment in Donald Trump. Not so much for the American people.
