Wait, you mean the people who don't go to the doctor didn't get diagnosed with Covid before they died, forcing researchers to use excess deaths as the metric of interest? It is almost as if...that was your entire point. But they still died, which seems quite inconvenient for your point, since your whole explanation for why people died was panic (not really an issue for groups with limited knowledge) and medical care (not really an issue for groups...that don't get much in the way of medical care).

Five years ago today (3/11) The WHO issued its ominous pandemic declaration. Shortly thereafter panic ensued. Does this look like a virus or a bomb ?

Granted, not every country elected to panic. Can you find the country ?

Why fight it...Darwin will have his way with these people soon enough. Im fine if they dont take that Trump vaccine like dear leader did. I just hope their stupidity is confined to them and they can do their branch Davidian/Jonestown stuff to their hearts content.

Oddly enough these rabid anti-vax types (because it wasnt properly tested, rushed to market and was a money grab) are the first people taking a untested, off label Mexican knock off moneymaker semaglutide. Seriously they will use stuff ground up and compounded in someones overheated garage and drink it, snort it and use it as a suppository if it makes them lose weight. Forget about dying from a disease...just let me lose this gut! No concerns of what happens or side effects that actually exist in those semaglutides whatsoever. Sadly if that Trump vaccine made them lose weight they'd be all over it....Im just glad they got over the incandescent bulb push back, worried about Motorola shaped cancer images in a skull from cell phones and moved on to progressive things like installing LED's under their trucks to display their wheel wells....

Sounds like a lot of projection. No rabid here. Just a calm and well-researched rejection of the fantastical notion that people are deadly disease vectors, read: unwitting serial murderers.

Add: speaking of rabid, as in rabies, it ain’t a virus either …

Yep, as I remember it, they never even shut down nor forced people to stay home or any of the other Draconian crap we went though.

The U.S. and virtually every country were examples of how you can kill multitudes without a pathogen.

It looks like the beginning of a pandemic on US shores. Now show the rest of the year please.

The ahistorical and precipitous “spike” on the graph basically signifies when the *panic* hit U.S. shores. And whatever they were doing, in NYC hospitals, for quite a few weeks it was literally the case that the farther away from Cuomo that you were, the safer you were.

The only thing that ‘spread’ was the test. By 2021 hysterical Americans were testing up TWO MILLION TIMES A DAY …

It was still a little early for the daily death ticker, but remember the prominent story of mass coffins stored in a warehouse in Italy because cremation couldn’t keep up with the dying ?

Fact Check: it was the aftermath of a sinking which took the lives of 359 immigrants in 2013.

I do not recall if there was a retraction at the time.

And who can forget when a major news network that lead with a story (three nights running) of an overwhelmed emergency room and a weeping doctor begging for relief ?

It was a small hospital in one of the most polluted regions in Italy handling elderly pneumonia patients.

There was a retraction on this story, one of the rare retractions.

    San Antonio... Florida!
And now the story is The Measles in TX, OK, and spreading. Now how did measles get here where when we had literally eradicated it from the US? Science and common sense points to a minimum of 8 million foreigners crossing our borders unchecked for 4 years under Biden’s watch. Say what you want, but I’m glad that guy (and whoever really ran the Autopens) are gonl.

Rash and fever never went away. But Public Health is like the meteorologist who’s been through a Cat 5 hurricane and has fallen into the show hole.

It was declared eradicated, but there has never been a single year of “literally zero” cases since 2000 so I’m not exactly sure what their threshold is.

    Measles Cases and Outbreaks

Looking at the history of the outbreaks, doesn’t seem like it’s any one particular group. Only a couple of them really connected to “illegal immigrants”. This one in Texas started going through an Amish-like community with low vax rates. Prior examples of similar with Orthodox Jews in NY and a Somali community in Minnesota. The only real common thread is these outbreaks find a group with lower vaccination rates.

An “outbreak” occurs when epidemiologists go looking for one. Epidemiology should be downgraded to a social science.
