AFAIK my brother coined that term. I felt it was egregiously underused. We welcome your noble use of said terminology. :)

    1) Zelensky agreed to a minerals deal. The deal was not about the US taking Ukraine's minerals, it was about the US investing in Ukraine and having skin in the game. The US would then help Ukraine rebuild. Zelensky walked away from the deal.

    2) Zelensky then agreed to another mineral deal.. The deal was ready to be signed and a celebratory White House dinner scheduled.

    3) Democrats didn't want Trump to get credit for the second deal with Zelensky. They met with him before the Oval Office press conference and Susan Rice talked him into not agreeing to the second deal. She convinced Zelensky that if he walked away from the second deal the Trump administration would fold and make a less favorable deal for the US. The Oval Office press conference was supposed to be a set up to humiliate Trump and it backfired. Democrats wanted to hurt Trump more than they wanted to help Ukraine.

    4) Zelensky was sent packing. King Charles met with Zelensky and subtly had him reconsider what he had done, which he did.

    5) As the smartest observors said in early 2022, the outcome of the war would be that Ukraine would give up the Russian-speaking Donbas and Crimea.

    6) As for Churchill, he helped get Britain into 2 unnecessary wars, WW1 and WW2. That ended the British Empire. G W Bush put a bust of Churchill in the Oval Office and got the US into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, which has greatly damaged the US economy. Wars should be avoided

The end game for Ukraine is to survive long enough to see Russia's economic collapse, which is estimated to occur at less than 12-18 months. No economy = no pay for soldiers & weapons manufacturers = no way for Russia to continue the war. GAME OVER.

The Russian economy was #6 in the world in GDP PPP when the war started. It grew 3.6% in 2023 and 4.1% in 2024 to pass the Japanese and German economies.

The Russian economy is now ranked #4 in the world by GDP PPP. Rising energy prices caused in part by the war helped to finance up to 100% of Russia's war efforts at various points (per the blog Moon of Alabama in 2022).

Russia's imports dropped greatly because of the sanctions, causing manufacturing gaps in the Russian economy. Sanctions forced Russia to close these gaps by re-industrializing.

Sanctions cut Germany's access to cheap Russian energy. This has forced Germany to de-industrialize.

The war added to US budget deficits and decreased US economic power. Some were saying the US economy was already in a recession last year (the final call on that will be made by the NBER).

The military-industrial complex wants to make as much money off the war as possible. The idea that Russia is just "12-18 months" from "economic collapse" is one they'd like to propagate. More war means more profit for them, Zelensky and other corrupt Ukrainians. Ordinary Americans are financially harmed by war. Ordinary Ukrainians pay economically and with their lives.

All evidence to the contrary I suspect chemgator would always claim that Russia is just months away from economic collapse.

U.S. will immediately resume military aid as Ukraine says it is open to 30-day ceasefire

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — The Trump administration lifted its suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing for Ukraine, and Kyiv signaled that it was open to a 30-day ceasefire in the war with Russia, pending Moscow’s agreement, American and Ukrainian officials said Tuesday following talks in Saudi Arabia.

The administration imposed the measures a week ago to push Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to enter talks to end the war with invading Russian forces.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. would present the ceasefire offer to the Kremlin.

“We’re going to tell them this is what’s on the table. Ukraine is ready to stop shooting and start talking. And now it’ll be up to them to say yes or no,” Rubio said. “If they say no, then we’ll unfortunately know what the impediment is to peace here.”

Cease fire with no security guarantees is just a free timeout for Russia to reload.

No way that flies and this admin knows it.

They're already staging this as Ukraine being the obstacle even though they made it a poison pill they'll never swallow.
