Enjoying this season and last night’s win. Looking forward to the SEC and NCAA tournaments. Amazing what this team has accomplished and they’re crazy fun to watch. Gator Boyz, keep the train rollin’!

It’s sad we so define teams by the post-season. I hope we can appreciate this team no matter what happens from here.

Three seasons for me: pre-SEC, SEC & NCAA tournament. I appreciate & enjoy each of them for what they are.

Corey Brewer's falling down shot vs. Georgetown doesn't go in...how would we remember those players? WOULD we remember them the way we do now? I may just be speaking for myself but I probably don't know them nearly as well as I do without that ultimate prize in their hands. There's no way to avoid the salience in perceptions created by winning a championship.

Can't find any videos but here is Pat Dooley's excellent recap of that game.

We had some really good teams between our Indianapolis Final Four years ('00 and '06); fun to watch, some of the best home atmospheres you can imagine. They would go a disappointing 3-5 in the NCAA Tournament those years. The most gut-wrenching may have been getting destroyed in Tampa as a #2 seed. The worst part about it would be all the complaints, and some would even question a Billy Donovan who only *got lucky* to advance past the first round in 2000 otherwise he wouldn't have even had a Final Four team let alone a decent Tournament showing.

This team is very clearly better than any of those teams, and obviously that guarantees you less than a cup of coffee at the Big Dance, but anybody who has followed this team will not soon forget how dominant they have been. There isn't a single, "I hope we don't play X" team out there. It seems like this team can run with anybody.

There is no doubt that this team will be placed on a higher mantle in people's minds than where they currently are if they do things like win the SEC Tournament and make a Final Four (last three Final Four teams were SECT champs); we reserve room in our minds for the best of the best, and that recognition comes with hardware and the celebrations of earning such. But nothing (ok, maybe old age and diminishing memories) will take away the joy that this team has brought us to date.

We're just a greedy people and always want more. :) Can't wait to see what this team has to bring in their next 9 games.

Such an excellent post. I come here because so many here know so much more than I do about the insides of a basketball game. I learn a lot.

For all our hopes, the TeamRankings email I got on Sunday says, as of that day, we have an 8% chance to win the NCAA Tournament and that, "makes us one one of the favorites."

I'll post that again: We have 8% chance and that makes us a FAVORITE; that tells me all I need to know of the likelihood we are not sad over the next 30 days. As my son said yesterday what I have said so often to him; "This team is going to break our hearts, more than likely. Just want to ride it as long as we can."
