Newsom sides with common sense. (IRT Transgender athletes)

Where? Who is running on this issue in the democratic party? They oppose making this a major issue, since it impacts very few people, and oppose legislation. No democrat that I am aware of has advocated passing a law that demands sports treat gender in any specific way. Correct me if I am wrong but I suspect it would be some small outlier tweet or something.

Republicans revel in passing some law on sports that isnt needed to make sure that icky people are made to feel icky. Just let sports handle it. I mean are you going to test the genitals of cornhole competitors? Bowlers? Dart champions? I mean come on.

 

So, he's done nothing but make a statement that may very well be dishonest .... and given past performances by wokerati politicians on the left .... is quite likely not an honest statement.

Well, let's all get excited and congratulate a guy from the political class .... the very class you seem to think (I believe you've previously asserted "they all lie") will say anything to get elected.

"Change in rhetoric" goes back to my comment about making people feel icky - such a noble cause that Jesus would love. I am not even sure what you mean by "common sense" when it comes to THE GOVERNMENT. I am fine with people lobbying and protesting the NCAA for common sense rules but what exactly are lawmakers supposed to do? Pass rules for every instance of every sport? That isnt common sense. Give me the exact actions you want democratic leaders in elected roles to take.

 

Well I doubt you’ll find a “lib” poster here that will disagree Democrat's made a mistake trying to defend that hill, so there’s no reason to keep harping on it unless you have nothing else.

 

You didnt answer the question. My guess is you cant. Title IX gives women equal access to athletics it doesnt regulate competition rules. You want it to say what?

 

To me this should never have been a political issue because girls have always been allowed to play on football teams if they make the team, whether they’re cis or trans because Title IX protects them. To the republicans credit they turned a non-issue into an issue, and the democrats big mistake was in biting and arguing the point. If the democratic leadership were smart they would only pick a few issues and ignore the rest. In my opinion there are three hills I believe are worth dying on; the costs of goods, preservation of entitlements, and support for Ukraine.

 

This is such a non issue. It’s just Trump riling up his idiots. Do you know how many trans athletes are in the ncaa. The answer is 10. All this hullabaloo over ten people.

 

Well, let's see what Newsom does as regards keeping men out of women's sports in California. Talk is cheap and politicians (and their media people) are very good a "walking back" comments.

Again. Its blocking a bill that doesnt have any purpose to exist. If it's about unfair competition then sporting governance bodies should handle.

 

The Democrats aren’t doing anything the republicans haven’t done which is to deny Trump any victories. That’s all this is, and if you notice it’s still the republicans dwelling on this issue when it shouldn’t be an issue at all.
