MBB OGT: Ole Miss at #5 FLORIDA -- Senior Night -- March 8, 2025 -- 6 PM [SECN]

Talking about everything but the action on the court/field has become an espn tradition, or so it seems sometime.

 

So let's compare the record against each other between Bama, Auburn, UT and Florida.

Florida is 3-1
Auburn is 2-2
UT is 2-2
Bama is 1-3

Added in edit:
Florida had 3 away games
Auburn had 3 home games
UT had 2 home games
Bama had 2 home games

That makes it even more impressive.

 

I saw it while listening to the radio broadcast and thought dam I'm glad my TV sound is off.

 

Was listening to college sports on Siris radio and soe hoops person insisted that the 4th #1 seed was for grabs. This was Friday - so before Ole miss but come on. Anyone who watched FL dismantle AL & Aub in their cribs knows.

 

I don’t care how much they talk to him just don’t fill up my screen with his face. I tuned in to watch a basketball game

 

Hated it. Who cares what Lunardi has to say? So disrespectful to our game when it went on for a second segment.

 

I was fine with it because a lot of the conversation included UF

Um, I was SO glad that Mullen took the UNLV job and got away from being a TV guy. Now we are in another place and I STILL have this problem:



Even when they go on sale, this is getting EXPENSIVE!

 

That was THE sin, IMO. But to the salient point, whether we like it or not, college basketball is mainly provincial and not national. When they have to keep eyeballs on the screen to sell chicken wings and insurance, they have to come up with some schticks to prevent the peripheral viewers from turning the channel. As I said, at least before the advent of live streaming on the internet, the TV remote is THE most powerful weapon today. Free is NOT free. It is merely a carnival barker's tool.
