    Days/weeks from dying got a new liver 6/24. 2 weeks ICU. 2 weeks later pulmonary embolism and sepsis two more weeks ICU. A month of rehab to get strong enough to walk again. 3 months in Houston hospital.


    6 month scan revealed new small tumor in new liver. Biopsy led to abscess and sepsis. Two weeks in hospital, 12/18-1/4.


    January was thrice daily antibiotic injections through PICC line in bicep. In hospital late January for weakened kidneys.


    Back in hospital last month for 6 days due to CMV (liver virus) and Cdiff (stomach/intestinal wall inflammation due to bacterial infection). Both ailments due to too much immunosuppressants which they tweaked. Just getting over Cdiff.


    Start radiation of liver tumor first week of April. Doc says prognosis is good and clinical trial chemo based on genome testing sounds promising.


    Watching a spot on lung. If it is cancer doc says we can use same radiation treatment on it.


    I fight on and try to remain hopeful. Thoughts, good energy, prayers - I’ll take whatever you’re willing to provide. I lean on faith, family and friends. Blessed to be here 2.5 years after liver cancer diagnosis!

    I can’t imagine. You are a tough sombuck. Keep fighting the fight and I look forward to a healthy update! God bless you and heal you. Thanks for sharing. The emotional rollercoaster must be maddening, gratifying, inspiring and terrifying. I pray for you and your loved ones.

    I know first hand how dealing with crap like this is, try to keep a positive outlook, which it sounds like you are. Dealing with Stage IV lund cancer (nonsmoking variety) my since Christmas. Drugs seem to be working.

    keep the family spirit. My brother is fighting off prostrate cancer, they gave him two years at the most and he is going on almost seven years. He has been through a lot but he keeps his doctor appointments and take a lot of drugs to keep his problems at bay. He keeps a positive outlook and gets out occasionally. We talk Gator sports and I call him regularly to make sure he is keeping up the fight. God bless you and and I am pulling for you.
