MVG: Alex Condon started the game, and the big Aussie then led the Gators to hard fought 99-94 road win against the Crimson Tide. Condo scored a career high 27 points with 10 rebounds and 2 blocked shots for a team high Value Score of 125. Walter Clayton Jr had fun feeding Alex with several deep post dunks. Overall, Walter had 22 points, 5 boards, and 8 assists earning him 113 Value Credits. Rueben Chinyelu was huge in the paint, scoring 9 points, with a team leading 11 rebounds, 2 steals and a block for 79 Value Credits. Observation: Two heavy-weight SEC teams traded scoring runs against each other but ultimately it was the Gator's 50-35 advantage on the boards that proved to be the difference in the game. The Gators depth also helped slow the roll of the Tide as they kept throwing big guys and a fresh rotation of guards to continually harass and out hustle the Alabama players to become only the 3rd opponent this season to win at Coleman Coliseum. It also kept the Gators undefeated streak alive, winning every game where they led at halftime. Said to the wife at the close of the first half it was important to have even a slim halftime lead. She never doubted...
I thought I heard one of the announcers say that he was left-handed. After looking at Condo's highlight reel, it looks like he mostly dribbles and shoots with his right hand, but he also dribbles and shoots with his left hand at times, especially under the bucket. Alex Condon Mid-season Highlights If he is ambidextrous, it might explain how he is so effective in scoring in tight spaces under the bucket, reaching on either side of the rim using either his left or right hand with natural ease. He does a lot of layups and baby hooks left-handed near the bucket. Anyway, I removed the left-handed reference because the video highlights don't seem to support that position.
I just look at how he shoots free throws (right-handed). But, maybe he writes left-handed. Who knows?
If Alabama doesn’t hit 3 late threes, it’s really a bit of a blowout in the end. I thought we really took it to them inside. They are a great offensive team though.
