I don't think that SEC tournament matters very much unless you are a team on the outside of the bubble and win it all. It didn't help us much last year making the finals.
Where did I bitch? I never said one word about officiating. All I did was correct you (that's why you got mad at me and whined) because you were mad at someone else. Nothing weak about it. Man up and admit you were wrong or move on. Fouls were uneven until Bama starting fouling at the end to extend the game. Fact. Now argue with someone else over you hurt feelings. Sad to see you off the rails for no reason.
Duke is a paper tiger full of young kids with little experience in the tourney. They have played in a weak conference. They have not beat 2 number 1 teams and an Alambama-esque team on the road. They have not been battle tested like the Gators. I would almost prefer a 2 seed in the Duke/ St John's east region than a 1 seed out west, imho...
Thanks, but credit to jeffphillips21 for pointing it out first. It's crazy how not even mentioning or blaming the refs--just pointing out that Bama fouled at the end to extend the game riles people up about the refs. They aren't even related. One is fouls called during game flow, which I never said anything about and the other is fouling at the end to extend the game. At any rate, we won? Yay!
I wanted to jump back on board and say this, so thank you. It seemed apparent in the first half that this was the case. If more of our shots fell, we shoulda been up by double digits. Might be a case where FL is a bad matchup for Bama, but we are flat out better than they are and ruined their senior day. HA! Fact is - these Gator boyz are a bad matchup for just about everyone.
Yes, we are a tough-nosed team... Oats said at half-time that we were playing much more physically than UA. I love this team!!!
I don’t think this is an accurate representation of Duke. First, they also beat Auburn. Second, they flat destroy teams. Sure many of these teams aren’t as good as Tennessee, but most teams don’t beat anyone by 20 or 40 as they do. Even after the Bama win, Duke’s KenPom rating is 5 points higher than Florida’s. That doesn’t happen for no reason. Duke is legit. Florida can beat them, because Florida can beat anybody, but make no mistake, Duke can beat Florida as well. Any anyone else.
Way back near the beginning of the season I predicted that Duke would be the overall #1 seed and lose in the second weekend. Mostly it was based on them being really good playing in a really weak conference. And being Duke they get an extra bump. Might happen but they are better than I thought they would be,
The Gator boyz flat outhustled Bama from start to finish. Only way they were gone to win on their senior night and our boyz did it!
Good point but if Tenn wins out & Florida plays them in the semis, its possible that game could decide the 1 seed. Personally Florida has 2 better wins at Auburn and at Alabama so it shouldn't matter, but it's possible the committee evens it out with Tenn having more Quad 1 wins. The Finals definitely means nothing in seeding since its on Sunday, but it's possible since we're 1-1, that game could be the tiebreaker.
