Dumb question. When you're down 6 points with less than 20 seconds left, you obviously need two 3's to tie and go to OT. So why deliberately go for 2? I see this time and time again, where a team needs 3's in the dying seconds and won't try for it. On Alabama's last 2 points, instead of the player stopping and trying to shoot a 3, he drove all the way to the basket for 2. What is the strategy? I don't see any, but that's how much I know about basketball.

The bracketologists can yap all they want about seeding. What I see is the best team in the country top to bottom that doesn't appear to have a weakness outside of free throws. Two wins against #1 and two top 10 road wins. 7-4 vs quad 1 which means their only losses are to the highest tier teams. I see the best team in the nation and I'm not talking about what I see through orange and blue glasses. Depth at every position, well balanced and any starter can go off for 20+ in any game. Can't wait for these tournaments, buckle up!

 

they wanted a 3 but we defended the 3...so they elected to go for a quick 2. With clock stoppage and maybe a botched inbound or miss FTs, they can tie with 3 2PG....taking the points and stopping the clock is better than miss a 3 and getting nothing

As much as I despise them, I must admit that duke is awful good too. I am not afraid of auburn or Alabama though. We have a big inside advantage against them.

 

The defense is night and day from last year. Toff should definitely be up there for SEC COY .

 

when the other team gives up the drive for 2 you take that foul right away and hope they miss both or at least FT. You can do that several times in 20 seconds but you need the other team to miss FT.

Of course we defend the 3, but you try for a way around it. Seems to me what you're describing is like trying to win the Lotto. Lots of luck.

 

How am I bitching when I'm stating fact? Fact is most of their foils came right at the end to extend the game. Not my fault you can't handle it. Stop bitching
