Unless the illegal protest damages the US Capitol…then Kraskov will grant a pardon.

That's not what these people have been doing on college campuses. And yes, I am talking about what happened last year too.

His post isn't entirely wrong, though. The president recently pardoned illegal protesters. To have questions about what will be deemed legal or illegal seems reasonable to me.

But what constitutes an "illegal" protest?

Exactly. Protesting is always legal. Protestors can break other laws, and should be held accountable, but there is no such thing as an “illegal protest”.

Yeah, 'Illegal.' I imagine there could be some trespassing charges or tickets for blocking sidewalks or streets after being to told not to. But those would likely be misdemeanors at best. His threats are a bit extreme ...
As far as threatening colleges for allowing 'illegal protests.' If the college allows it, what does he think is illegal about it?

Told ya. This is why Hegseth and Patel were nominated. He's dying to send out the troops and declare marshal law.

An illegal protest is a demonstration that violates laws or regulations, such as not having the necessary permits, blocking traffic without permission, or engaging in violent or destructive behavior. While people have the right to protest, they must do so within the boundaries of the law to avoid legal consequences.

So not having a permit is like normally a misdemeanor, or usually just a verbal warning?

Exactly, the cops get to decide when a protest is unlawful, and usually its when they decide to start using force on people after imposing an arbitrary curfew or rule, not because some law was broken. People wonder why the people arrested get released, its usually because they didnt do anything other than not move when a cop told them to move.
