Trump's ego is such is that he will run the economies of Canada, Mexico and the US into the ground before admitting that he was wrong and could end up damaging the economies of the EU and China and maybe several other countries in the process. Apparently the stable genius is completely ignorant regarding of the disastrous impact of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff act because if he had even rudimentary knowledge of economic history he wouldn't be trying the same policy again. It didn't work in 1930 and it will fail again in 2025.
They import about $400B and you think there are $100B of tariffs??? Almost ALL products got into Canada duty free as a result of USMCA. Trump negotiated the two areas that do get tariffs from the US which is about 2% on non-agricultural and about 14% on ag goods. Those were listed out specifically by Trump in the last agreement.
