Clemson files Grant of Rights language lawsuit against the ACC (Update at #125)

I’ve been very confused by this too. It’s like it’s etched on tablets like the Ten Commandments . How does no one have pdf of it? Makes you wonder if they’re trying to hide something

 

All of the flawed lawsuits filed by any ACC team attempting to extract themselves from a legally executed contract constitute parlaying for media clicks. They are dead to rights.

One only needs to understand that these bozos have overlooked intentionally the ironclad venue provision of North Carolina for any lawsuit. The parties failure to adhere to an ironclad portion of the contract shows that this is simply an act for media attention and or some attempt to further negotiate with the ACC for money.

The silliness of the “learned” lawyer explaining the long arm statute to a non-attorney to shill the non-attorney is comedy. I can only surmise that the “learned” attorney is attempting to drum up business among his Seminole brethren. He is in the same business as Barnum, “ a new sucker is born every minute”. Go Gators.

 

FSU Athletics Eyes $327M Bond Offering Amid Legal Fight With ACC


The Florida State University athletic department is looking to raise $326.6 million from an upcoming bond offering as administrators speak openly about the Seminoles falling behind financially.

A preliminary offering statement, posted this week via Florida’s Division of Bond Finance, says the purpose of the revenue bonds is to finance renovations to the school’s football stadium and the construction of a new football operations facility.

In total the renovations will reduce the capacity of the venue from 79,560 to something “between 65,000 and 70,000, but the renovations will significantly increase the number and diversity of premium seating options available to ticketholders

So 60% of revenue is viewership based (Clemson / FSU) and the ACC dies in 2030? Does that about sum it up?

 

I think so. I'm surprised how much FSU and Clemson are getting out of this deal. I just hope FSU viewership numbers decline after a few more losing seasons and they don't even get the extra revenue they bartered for.

 

Does it work the same within the SEC? If not, would it mean they are giving extra to fsu and Clemson? I wouldn't think either school warrants special circumstances. I don't watch Clemson and only tune into fsu games hoping to watch them lose.

 

The SEC splits its TV revenues equally among conference members.

 

Yeah - as @Crusher said, the SEC, and I think every P5, splits revenue equally.

The ACC will share 40% of revenue equally and divy the other 60% according to viewership.

There also seems to be a decreasing exit fee that goes away (?) by 2030, effectively putting the ACC's death on the calendar.
