While that may be some good news if it's officially announced, the last paragraph of your article sums it up nicely.
Don't forget pushing allies away (to China?) while embracing those who dream about such things (Putin).
I’m impatient to live through another Great Depression. But I realize a lot of other things have to happen first.
From Mexico and Canada? WTF point of that? They would be key players in trying to move that from, specifically, China. Instead we're pushing all our allies TO China when they had actually pivoted away after the Ukrainian war and China's support of Russia. Like I said yesterday, we're marching into Manchurian Candidate territory now. Nothing he's done benefits the country long or short term and most of it runs counter to our near and far-term goals, which really makes you wonder.
It's a simple buzz word that will activate his brainless fans. Wouldn't want to upset all three brain cells with talk about things like trade policy.
I actually have no problem with this. China is the one country we need to wean ourselves off of (the actual point of tariffs) albeit smartly. Just note that the tariffs on Mexico and Canada (who we are fully integrated with financially) are higher than those on China.
The China tariffs are on top of a 10% tariff that's already in place. That's what I was informed from @OklahomaGator a few weeks ago.
I thought I read where the Chinese tariffs went up to 20% which would be on top of the 10% already there. But who can keep up with this shit it changes hourly with this administration
My understanding is it was 10% and just raised another 10%, probably because it's so obvious he's favoring an enemy over our neighbors, friends and countries that are fully integrated into our economy. We import AND export from them (60/40 with Mexico), as opposed to almost exclusively exports in the case of China (95/5). This is a no-brainer. . . . unless you're a Manchurian/St. Petersburgian Candidate.
