The US has been in a proxy war with Russia, a country that wanted to join NATO and be our friend. Partial list of other stupid wars that should have been avoided
    Civil war
    WW1
    WW2
    Vietnam war
    Afghanistan war
    Iraq war
    Syrian war
    Libyan war

Probably the Korean war but I would defer to duggers_dad on that one

That is one disgusting post and an insult to every American who fought and died in them. You’re hopeless.

Unlike you liberals I would have been hugely opposed to Lenin or Stalin. I oppose communism. Liberals had a hard time criticizing Lenin or Stalin because they were from the political left. Liberals have no enemies to their left.

Now that Russia is led by Putin, (who is profoundly anticommunist) you guys are opposed to Russia.

Not only were Democrats soft on communism, they've done their best to turn the US into the USSR.

My dad was a well known anticommunist whose plan to roll back communism received high praise from Stefan Possony and James Burnham, both of whom had been called the greatest strategic thinkers in the West.

When my dad was a sophomore at Harvard he took 18 hours of classes and taught guerilla warfare for 15 hours.

If you took Americanism vs Communism in high school know that it was an incredibly dumbed down version of a similar course my dad and his friends taught years earlier.

My dad put me on a reading program to learn about Soviet communism when I was in elementary school. By the time I was 14 I probably knew more about communism than virtually any poster here

Unlike many of you I wasn't stupid enough to hate the Russian people for defeating communism. The smart move was to bring them into Western civilization, which is what Reagan and Thatcher wanted.

I suspect that many of you hate Russia because it is no longer communist. Or maybe you and your team aren't hitting on all cylinders intellectually

Your problem might be that you're not on my level, to be polite. If you were smarter and more knowledgeable you,'d realize that the avoidance of war is the smart way to go.

Edit: Germany got a raw deal after WW1. German-speakers were trapped in the area of Danzig, a port city. They wanted to be part of Germany again. Hitler took that area back. A settlement could have been negotiated. Instead the US and Britain didn't want to negotiate, which led to a war that killed roughly 50-70 million people. Hitler didn't want war with Western Europe, he wanted Western Europe to unite and fight the Soviet's expansion into central Europe.

Avoiding war within Western Europe was the correct move

You just continue on and on with one anti American post after another. For arguments sake yes the communist party was banned in the early 90’s but communists still remain. Russia is a dictatorship in all but name, controlled at the top by Putin with his cronies and oligarch friends below him. Looks pretty much like what Trump is trying to create with Musk, Bezos, and others he placed in his cabinet. You’re losing badly in every discussion so if I were you I’d sit down

First off Skippy I don’t have a problem. Second I know I’m not on your level, I’m above it. Finally no one here is for war and wish to avoid it, but most Americans understand that surrendering to a country that attacked you isn’t a move intelligent people who love their country would make. You need to understand you’re coming across like you believe the bully is entitled to your lunch money, weak and pathetic. As my old man would say before giving you a wedgie before shoving you in a locker, “You need to grow a pair.”

    You know who is winning.

Russia has tremendous diversity. The more diverse a country is the more authoritarian it's leadership must be to hold the country together. Especially when a country like the US is funding Chechen terrorists inside your borders. And of course NATO has been using Ukraine to destabilize Russia.

Ukraine started the war, not Russia.

Given that I'm 6'-5" and won a contest to see who the best athlete was in Central Florida, I doubt your old man would be giving me a wedgie or shoving me in a locker. I didn't play football in high school or college but I think I could have played for the Gators. The first QB drafted by the NFL one year asked me to try out for his team. I worked out with him at the Altamonte Springs Recreation Dept

If you think I didn't win a contest to determine who the best athlete was in central Florida put some money on it

Yeah because comparing a fight half way around the world to one on our own shores is apples to apples.

FTR Trump is wrong to pull support of Ukraine and the only peace should come when Russia returns all the annexed lands take from Ukraine in this latest invasion.

I guess Crimea can stay because Obama thought it was okay.

It would be the same. If MAGA ever had to face an enemy that was shooting back you can be sure there would be plenty of MAGA weapons being sold that have never been fired and only dropped once.

I pray we never find out.

However since many MAGA are former military who have actually faced live fire I don’t know that your hypothesis is correct on first blush.
