Rubio is the one person Trump picked that was at least halfway qualified for the job. However after this weekend it’s clear in order to save what’s left of his reputation Rubio needs to resign. He should come back to Florida and run for governor.
My heart sunk the day Trump nominated him for Secretary of Defense because I knew he was a war pig. What I didn’t is that he sponsored a poison clause, in the latest defense budget, that mandates two-thirds approval to pull out of the world’s largest criminal enterprise which is NATO.
Turned out I was wrong about "Little Marco". While I would have never expected Rubio to openly disagree with Trump's position and remain as Secretary of State he could have used much milder language in criticizing Zelensky. From what he has said there is little doubt that the Don has metaphorically castrated Marco Rubio. Like the overwhelming majority of Republicans Rubio has become a political eunuch.
He's afraid. . . and not just politically. He dug this hole by sidling up to these scumbags and now he's stuck.
Trump already endorsed Byron Donalds for Florida governor. Trump would squash Rubio like a bug if he runs against his guy. Rubio is stuck where he's at, carrying Trump's water.
interesting how Marco’s reversal on his core principles really sticks out amongst Trump cabinet. Imo it was believed, yes he was conservative, but for dems he had integrity and strongly spoke against Russia. Rubio’s confirmation vote was 99-0. But now he’s meeting with Russia and working with trump to appease Putin. Imagine telling him he would do that years ago.
ABC is trash, George is a stooge for the Dems, and the headline is complete BS. Never did he panic. He basically told George we want to end the conflict not give a "security guarantee." But why do they put a guarantee on the box? Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will.
So is Trump still going to end the Ukraine war before the inauguration? It's weird, but somehow I thought that he might just be ......totally lying ..... when he said that. Let's start with this June 22 campaign rally in Philadelphia, where ending the war between Ukraine and Russia was written into his stump speech. "Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, shortly after we win the presidency," Trump said. "I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine settled." Trump promised he'd end war in Ukraine before taking office. Now? He 'might.' | Opinion
Michael Steel isn’t a fan. "It kind of draws me to a point as an example, Marco Rubio at the State Department," Steele told his guest. "I've always looked at Donald Trump selecting him as a way to punk the hell out of him. Because this is a guy –– I'm going to tell you why –– because this is a guy who has a core” 'Punk the hell out of him': Rubio ridiculed by ex-GOP official over Trump humiliation
This is a guy who found a way to tolerate and justify the only sitting President in US history trying to not peacefully transfer power. By enacting a criminal conspiracy. Michael Steele clearly has his verb tense wrong.
awww...poor little marco upset that daddy donny has no respect for him Marco Rubio 'upset' as Trump 'sidelines' him from foreign policy decisionmaking: report Secretary of State Marco Rubio feels as though he is being ignored by the Trump administration and excluded from any important foreign policy decisions, reported Gabriel Sherman in a Vanity Fair article published on Tuesday. This state of affairs was brought to the forefront by Trump's shouting match with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that saw the latter kicked out of the White House — an incident for which Rubio himself was present and did little talking himself.
wonder if it will alienate the cubans when dt uses rubio for his next skidmark. the first apprentice to be kicked off the island?? Trump's Jab at Marco Rubio During Speech Raises Eyebrows: 'Seems More Like A Threat Than a Joke' President Donald Trump made what seemed to be a joke to Secretary of State Marco Rubio during his address to Congress, but many observers interpreted it differently. "Good luck, Marco. Now we know who to blame if anything goes wrong. No, Marco has been amazing and he's going to do a great job. Think of it. He got 100 votes (...) And I'm either very, very happy about that or I'm very concerned about it. But he's already proven - I mean he's a great gentleman, he's respected by everybody and we appreciate you voting for Marco. He's going to do a fantastic job," Trump said during a passage of his speech.
from the article… “Rubio's lack of policy influence is all the more apparent from the fact that when he was in the Senate, he frequently pushed for aid to Ukraine and adopted a much more hawkish stance on the matter than Trump has ever displayed. It is not lost on his former colleagues, with Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) even comparing Marco Rubio's change of heart to being lobotomized.”
