You Democrats (and not a few Republicans) are like a man who considers a nearby neighbor a bully who needs to be laid low, but you are reluctant to take on the ‘bully’ yourself. So you bribe the so-called bully’s next-door neighbor to fight the bully. Problem is he gets his ass pounded. The ‘bully’ says he’s willing to talk, but you ignore him because you don’t talk to bullies. Instead, you urge your human punching bag to get up and fight, fight until he’s a bloody pulp and that you will be behind him until the end because you’re not a surrender monkey.
Beaten to a bloody pulp, the man you’ve thrown into the fight spits out teeth and cries out, “I’m dying! When are you going to get in here and help out ???” You show him a meme on your phone and tell him he’s not done fighting and to rub some diet on his wounds because you’re not a surrender monkey.
I don’t recall hiding behind that flag. That said, I’m pretty sure that the flag signifies that if someone treads on you that YOU will fight, you and not a proxy to fight in your stead.
