A quote is placed in quotation marks and cited. Don’t worry about it.

Look at "ignoring the point" Bing again. ;) Consider the source of the post I responded too.

If they though Biden was so "star spangled awesome" then why did they spend so much time harping on Trump during Biden's term?

See it really does go both ways.

It wasn't that Biden was "awesome" it WAS that he wasn't a Russian agent with 34 felony convictions and an adjudicated rapist.

The fact is that in the choice of the lesser of two evils, the clear case can be made Biden was the lesser evil.

He was surrounded by COMPETENT people, unlike these clowns Trump has put into the "How you destroy a superpower in 30 seconds" three ring circus.

Umm.I literally have never said they are the same and have called Trump a racist multiple times, said I would never vote for him because I have daughters who I cant explain that vote to and find him to be trash... and just had a very long discussion about how damaging his efforts are right now. (I like trimming the fat from government, but not like he and Musk are doing it!)

I am simply laughing at a person with Trump Regurgitation Reflex complaining about someone with Biden Regurgitation Reflex.

Wouldn't you rather see the actual topic discussed rather than the whole "You voted for a rapist, you cant make a comment ever again!!!!" Type of garbage?

Its stupid. Dont defend it. Push against it so that we can have actual discussion on this board again.

    MTHGA

Heck man, I wouldnt even vote in the governor race in my state because the dude was far right maga.

And you clearly ignore all the maga types that i take shots at on this board. Cmon. You are you that new here?

Tilly has been totally consistent in his opposition to Trump over the last 6+ years.

Sorry for a little friendly fire if that is the case - I've adjusted the post accordingly, but I do think we need to be careful of these false equivalencies.

That we even have Trump as a President tells you how mentally ill a good part of the country is.

Voting for him as a "cry for help" is just not warranted and the idea that using him as a form of retribution against those who have literally worked all their lives to get where they have in life because "I'm not doing so well and getting left behind" is disgusting, because all he offers is nihilism and destruction for EVERYONE.

That isn't going to make anyone's lives better and the other guy was actually trying to help and I believe literally any halfway normal, well-adjusted American would have been a better President than a narcissistic rapist felon traitor.

I was focusing on his abuses of the office he held, rather than personal vile characteristics or criminality, since this thread pertains to Biden's (or staff's) performance in office.

But yes, you and other MAGAs do shill for an admitted and adjudicated sexual assaulter. It's good that you remember. Would be better if you cared.

Link me to where I have posted one good thing about him. (Me calling out dems hypocrisy is not an endorsement of Trump.)

    We'll wait.

You do realize that FY24 ended 30 September when that vegetable was in control?

The two laugh emojis received are a badge of honor considering the sources. And I take them as white flags waved :D

someone in his family (wife and granddaughter) were enjoying the perks and privileges of living in the WH and wanted to enjoy the ride four more years so they kept saying you can do it Joe. pure selfishness just like the pub senators refusing to stand up to Trump right now.

I can honestly hold two contradictory ideas in my head on this one.

Everyone wants to be the hero in their own story and the fact is, Biden beat Trump, and Hillary didn't.

I can see some, probably also for self-serving purposes, thought our best bet was to play defense on Biden's declining mental health and hope he could make it to the election.

The problem comes when you also decide you need to debate Trump and in the process, show this decline clearly.

Then you have to look at the decision-making at the point from when Biden said he'd be a transition President until he was forced out.

The possibility of which never crossed anyone's minds being in the realm of possibility, when public opinion is everything.

There are echos of this in the process of Ruth Bader Ginsberg stepping down when clearly in decline. Turns in history that could have been avoided had rational, and not emotional, thoughts been the rule.

The fact is that any candidate picked fairly through our normal Democratic primary and convention would have been able to beat Donald Trump badly, but the process was not able to be run when public opinion turned.

    Right here
You are 100% right Bling that the dismissing any talk of Trump as irrelevant has proved to be among the most obvious examples of partisan distortion on here. Further, I have yet to see any of the offenders admit their mistake.

Still, just because someone isn’t going to run for office again, doesn’t mean that discussing them should be out of bounds. To this day, books are still published on Washington, Lincoln, and Hitler. I there are things to learn from Biden’s presidential tenure.

While writing The Gulag Archipelago, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was accused of needlessly dredging up the past, with people invoking the proverb, “Dwell on the past, and you’ll lose an eye.” But he retorted that the proverb had a second message: “Forget the past, and you’ll lose both eyes.”

Arguably we are where we are because Biden’s ego and his staff being too weak to call it out. A full primary might have yielded a different result in November. We will never know.
