Troy just beat FAMU 6-1. Game ended at about 11:23.

 

It would have been wonderful if this game were televised, allowing us, as enthusiastic , fanatic out-of-town Gator softball fans, to share in the 1000 winning game triumph.

MCB51 asked me to do the play-by-play, but I'm hoping others will add their commentary, especially those at the game. Go Gators!

 

Notice how Walsh's BA has jumped from around .200 to .271. Hopefully, she's back in the groove.

 

I think, not too many games ago, she was down around .160. So, welcome back Reagan.

 

Oxley starts off the game with a strikeout, then gets a foul pop out to 1st. Great catch by Walsh. 2 down.

 

Another foul out to Walsh ends an easy top of the first.

 

Sounds like Red is "on" today. Yay!

 

Sorry for my slow start. I was doling out a bowl of homemade habanero salsa and getting tortilla chips for dipping, plus a chunck of cheese to ease the burn from time to time.

 

Falby leads off the bottom of the 1st by beating out an infield single to first base on a 2-1 count. Speed kills.

 

Kendra gets thrown out trying to steal 2nd on a 2-2 count. Yikes!

 

Taylor Shumaker gets a full count, then grounds out to 1st unassisted.

 

Korbe Otis gets a first pitch single on a high bouncer to SS.

 

Jocelyn Erickson walks on a 3-1 count. 1st & 2nd, 2 outs for Reagan Walsh.

 

Walsh walks on 4 straight pitches to load the bases for Kenleigh Cahalan.

 

Cahalan slams the first pitch over the RF fence for a GRAND SLAM. Huge 2-out hit. 4-0 Gators!!

 

Mia Williams hits a HR over the LF fence on a 1-1 pitch. 5-0 Florida.
