Betting on the enemy, against our country's leader, is bad form. Maybe sit this one out until elections season in 2028.
I know. We're in a "silver lining" moment ; where at least the silver lining to the cloud is laughing at cultists who cheer, lie and shill for their rapist traitor. At least there's that to benefit Americans, I guess.
Egg prices our animal time high in our expected to increase by at least another 40%. Coffee prices are on the rise as well. So much winning from the Trump administration
Read foreign press. Listen to the leaders and ambassadors from other countries. Look at their actions
Majority is surprisingly high. “The vast majority of American voters think the U.S. should not trust Russian President Vladimir Putin,” https://thehill.com/policy/international/5153611-quinnipiac-poll-russia-putin-trust/
Just saw a bit on CNN from yesterday that said 41% of Americans think the US is doing too much for Ukraine. That was 7% three years ago. Same poll had trust of Zelensky at 40% now which was 76% three years ago.
I wish I spoke another language. It’s hard enough deciphering the massive amount of whining and bullshit posted by the left on these boards.
Anybody who knows anything about diplomacy and history understands diplomatic decorum dictates that disagreements, especially on sensitive issues like international conflicts, be addressed privately to maintain mutual respect and facilitate constructive dialogue. By confronting Vice President Vance in front of the media, Zelenskyy not only breached that well-known protocol, but at the same time undermined the potential for a productive discussion after traveling thousands of miles to be here. You can think Zelenskyy is a hero all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that the way he behaved yesterday was beyond inappropriate and at the very least, did absolutely nothing to help Ukraine's position moving forward.
Straw man. Who is saying Putin is trustworthy? But at the same time, you're arguing a Ukrainian president is trustworthy? You realize former President Joe Biden gave speeches to Ukrainian parliament barely 10 years ago chiding them for their systemic corruption? But we can trust them? I'm asking, because I don't want to make a straw man argument like you just did.
Some guy on YouTube huh. LOL That was a weak attempt. “”Before the full-scale invasion in 2022, President Zelensky's trust rating was 37%. Afterwards, it rocketed to 90%. Before Donald Trump returned to office at the start of 2025, it was 52%. After he blamed Ukraine for starting the war, it hit 65%.” Ukrainians back Zelensky after disastrous Oval Office encounter
If only we could turn the US into a better money laundering operation for the Russian laundry...wait, we elected a vendor for it!
I am withholding judgement on how Trump administration is handling this. I actually do think US should get first development rights and such when the war ends and Trump is right to push for this during negotiations. Europeans have paid in relatively nothing compared to us. Zelenskyy has to realize that if he plays that right that is as good as boots on the ground as far as security goes. We should not put US troops in Ukraine, except for maybe training. Zelenskyy should be working with US CEOs to figure out which companies want to go and make money there. I honestly think that would be the strategy here to get his best deal. *Yes this seems odd, but I actually think it would work Vance's little lecture has come back to cause two incidents like this in front of the media in successive days though. Same thing happened with UK PM
lol! Yeah I don’t think it’s diplomatic decorum that’s the problem. In a speech to Congress Zelenskyy expressed his thanks and appreciation from both Democrats and Republicans for their support. The big mistake Zelenskyy made with Trump is that he forgot Trump is a xenophobic narcissist, and didn’t thank Trump enough to satisfy him. In dealing with Trump Zelenskyy should have said this: “Mr President no words can express how appreciative we are of what you have done for not only the people of Ukraine but for the entire world. Your genius, strength, and leadership is a beacon of light that we have been waiting for many years. In appreciation we are presenting you with Ukraine’s highest honor for heroism, a solid gold medallion, and we will build a mighty statue of you in every city in Ukraine as a reminder of your heroic acts, and your leadership will be an example for all future leaders.”
The other thing is that it may only be two years. If Trump screws up badly enough (and he's working pretty hard at it, firing government workers left and right, weakening federal oversight on deadly diseases, food safety and air traffic control, etc.), democrats may sweep the mid-terms, and about this time in 2027, we could be celebrating Trump's impeachment. We may have to deal with Vance's arrogance and ignorance for two years, but he can also be impeached if he does not learn a lesson from Trump's impeachment.
