All of those 18 games for SEC teams involve multiple conflicts but they get them done. We broadcast the Duke game when there was also baseball and gymnastics so it can be done but we are choosing not to broadcast softball. The Okie State/Nebraska game is at a Wichita State tournament and it does not appear they are broadcasting any of that tournament so we are comparable to Wichita State. The LSU/Notre Dame game is at the Judi Garmin Classic in California. Flosoftball used to broadcast that Classic but haven't the last two years for some reason. That is actually at the Cal State Fullerton field and Cal State is broadcasting their games since their game with LSU was on yesterday. But apparently only their own games ala USF. BTW...McClain appears to have blown me off....Ocala too. I sent him an email a week ago with my specific understanding of the issues involved and asked him to call. He replied he "appreciated it and would follow-up at my number". Never heard from him. Sent him a snarky email this morning telling him I'm sorry I missed his call but I can watch the other 18 SEC televised games today but not ours.
There is good news and bad news with this tv business and, fortunately, I'm done with it for another miserable February. The good news is once we get through this no tv cupcake weekend, everything else through the end of the season will be televised in one place or another. The bad news is, contrary to everything I believed up to now, that we get the worst home broadcasting in the league and it is not the result of a bad broadcasting facility. They messed up by broadcasting the Duke game at the same time as baseball and gymnastics. The have now proven to me that they can do it for every softball game and that they don't do it because they are intentionally screwing the softball program and its fans. That is now, IMO, a fact.
Congratulations to CTW on his 1000 win as the Gator coach. Florida Gators Softball on Instagram: "The road to 1,000 #GoGators"
From CTW in the post game video; On sophomore pitcher Keagan Rothrock's status…. "Keagan is going on the IL. It doesn't appear to be serious, but we're going to take the necessary precautions to get her back to 100%. In our program, we have her listed as day-to-day and she will return to practice and game activity shortly." All of our pitcher’s are going to have to step it up a notch. And have Keagan’s back.
Lineups still not posted. Game before ours must be running long. Won't need her this weekend. Would be nice to have her at full strength for Texas A&M next weekend.
The Road to !000 video re-confirms what we already knew that CTW is universally loved, revered, and respected and feared by competitors. We have been blessed to have him for 20 years. You will note the 1000 win picture has our illustrious AD right up front. You would have “thunk” he would have had the game broadcasted?
Well I'm surprised any comment was made at all concerning Keagan. Usually we just don't see them play for awhile, maybe they show up in a splint or boot and you make guesses then one day they are in the lineup. Atleast it doesn't sound serious.
He had no choice. You can hide Alyssa, or whatever, you can't hide the absence of Keagan. Just as he couldn't hide Hannah's wrist injury. While this doesn't appear overly serious, I fear it may go past this weekend. My guess, and it is only a guess, is she has felt off the last couple starts. She was wearing that electrical stim device she occasionally uses the other day in the dugout. I think, another guess, is they decided now was the best time to let her rest it and recover rather than more problems later.
She also had like an ace bandage warp around her upper arm during that GCU game. I asked if anyone else noticed in but everyone said they jsut saw her wearing the stim. My guess is a strain or something.... soft tissue.
Here is the official policy and it does not appear to cover softball. Also, for those sports it does cover, there is no requirement to release an injury report for a non-conference game. SEC Student-Athlete Availability Reporting Policy - Southeastern Conference
Football decided to release much less info when that rule changed. Used to do full depth charts every week, now pretty much just release the minimum required availability list.
Which lets big $$$ football betting insiders have an edge. Boxing the common man out of info is not a good thing.
Someone from Western Michigan walked in with a GameChanger logo briefcase, sat in the front row on the aisle behind home plate, set up a camera, and apparently broadcast today's game for the Western Michigan fans. GameChanger
That and probably a bunch of licenses and agreements, which I kinda doubt he had, given the appearance of things. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
