Apparently the death of Gene Hackman, his wife, and one of his dogs are being investigated as suspicious after authorities didn’t initially find an obvious cause, like a gas leak or carbon monoxide. Heard there was a spilled bottle of pills found by one the deceased, but not much else. Pills dont necessarily mean suicide, but that’s about all that’s been released. Poisoned food shared with the dog is another possibility.

When I saw that the wife and dog died too, it seemed a little weird. I though I saw they had multiple dogs and only one died, so something about it seems accidental or not necessarily premeditated.

He was a fine actor, never gave a bad performance. Will wait to see what the investigation turns up.

They said they had been dead for a while, so it's possible the dog in the crate starved to death, I guess. The other dogs may have been able to find food.

A reasonable theory I read was that something happened to Gene. He fell, or had a heart attack or something. She then panicked to get help, or get his meds or something and fell as well. Though she's only 65. Alternatively, she found him dead and killed herself with pills.

The dog that died was trapped in its kennel. So not likely premeditated suicide

Another item I noticed is the subline saying that the toxicology reports could take months. Huge backlogs seem seem to be common across the country. It's odd to me in this day and age that families and detectives have to wait so long for such critical information.

She was found with an oddly placed space heater next to her which really complicates potential storylines

I saw that, too, and that there were healthy dogs on the property. They said the bodies had probably been there for some time, so the poor dog in the crate probably died of dehydration.

Probably based on how many different things they have to test for in this case. I'm sure there is not one test you do.

That could make sense. They were apparently dog lovers, so when I heard last night that the dead dog was found in a closet, I thought that was weird.

The dog that died was confined and they'd been dead for days or possibly weeks. The others probably drank from the toilets and ate whatever they found laying around the house.

Those are some freak scenarios if true, but at this point whatever it turns out to be is likely unusual.

It would seem weird that 60 year old would kill themself because a 95 year old died.
