Rick, first of all, Burchett is not testifying under oath. He's a congressman on the committee.
Second, I'm not demanding you provide proof. I'm asking you if you think something has to be true because a congressman said it.

 

Same amount of " proof" they needed that the 2020 election was " stolen": he said so.....

The surprising thing here isn't that Trumppublicans are lying, or that they are spineless enough to be so thoroughly coerced and dominated. The surprising thing is that there could be grown adults in this world that believe these shameless liars.

Since we went into Afghanistan in 2021, we've spent 2.3 Trilliion dollars (from 01-23).

That's 22 years, so $104B/year or $2B per week. $40M per week is 2% of our wartime spend there.

These are loose numbers and I'm not saying $40M/week is nothing. But some context is also important here.

Last time we abandoned the Afghanis, we left a vacuum that created the Taliban. This time we just handed it to the Taliban, so I think it's right to question the spend, but my guess is that you'll find it's at least somewhat defensible. Not some nuclear aha of a moment lol.

 

Any errors in statements by DOGE are corrected.
