That article talks about a few red districts where federal employment opportunities are key, and I think some are starting to realize that untargetted mass cuts — like saying “fire everyone hired in the last two years” — are going to disproportionately hurt white people. Saw another article a few days ago saying Trump supporters are overwhelmingly trying to get messages to Trump, begging for their jobs back.
