Down goes Missouri. What a day for the Gators verses the SEC. With only 4 games left, the Gators have a two game lead or greater over everyone but Auburn and Bama. These 3 seem to be a lock for the top 3 in the SEC and get the 2 day bye in the SECT. 3 other teams, (Tenn, TA&M, and Missouri) are locked in a 3 way tie for 4th at 9-5 to battle it out for the last of the 4 seed byes.
It looks to me like Florida and Bama end up in the 2 and 3 spots depending on who wins the head to head. Bama has the tougher schedule but we play at Bama so that will be key. Bama also plays Auburn again but at Auburn so anything can happen. The next two weeks are going to be tough for all the top teams in the league.

    Right here
Good analysis Matherly. Missouri losing was big for Florida’s sec seeding chances. Bama has such a tough road ahead, it’s hard to imagine them coming through unscathed.

Meanwhile, Duke kersploded on Illinois, and now sports a +38 KenPom rating! Holy cow.

I was at the baseball game so I missed the first half and the beginning of the second half. Sometime around 6:30 I checked the score on my phone and we were up 29-15. Looking good. Walking back to our car after the game I checked again and LSU had cut the lead to 3. By the time we reached our car it was halftime and LSU is up 6.

Drove home listening to the radio feed and got home with the Gators down 8 and I turned on the game on my TV.

Then all was right with the world.

I agree with you regarding Auburn...or any team for that matter. It can happen to any team. Fish was only pointing out something we cannot afford to do come the NCAA Tournament.

LSU was a weird game...yes, we did come back strong. But we have to remember, LSU is not very good this year.

I just don't want us to play poorly for 1 half and that costs us getting knocked out in the Big Dance. Again, reiterating what Fish said.

Is Thomas Hough the most important player on this team ?

If we win our last 4 games, we're a lock for the #2 overall seed. Win the SEC tournament, including a win vs. Auburn along the way on top of that and we get the #1 overall seed. All of that's not likely to happen, but why not? Who thought this team would be in this position 6 weeks ago? Even if we lose a game or two before the NCAA tournament starts, we have a good shot at a #1 seed, #2 at least. This is a really good, deep team with great chemistry and they find different ways to win. Love watching them and love Todd Golden's fire.

It's nice to see that Klavzar may have permanently broken into the regular rotation. All of our regular guard rotation (Clayton, Richard, Martin, and Aberdeen) are all healthy and playing complete games, but the Klav still got 13 minutes last night, and his quick 5 points helped our rally quite a bit. I don't think the imminent return of Condon will affect that. This has got to make the Klav feel optimistic about his role next season.

I think Klav is good as all of the guards . He deserves as much time as any of the guards . JMHO

I think he has been really improving since he had to step up for Condo being out

Maybe. He had to earn it first, though. Early in the season, his defense was clearly lacking. Looks much better on D now.

that could be argued. Also, could be argued that Condo is, but maybe Haugh is the glue that holds all of the pieces together.

I expect Condo to play against Georgia, but these recent injuries to him, Alexis, Martin, and Clayton have made a really good team even better. It forced guys to play harder, smarter, and with confidence.

He has played well, but he has some legit limitations. He is much shorter and less athletic than our other 4, which limits how he can defend on some of the switches and also leads to the lowest reb rate on the team. His to rate is also easily the highest of our guards, and he does not draw fouls at all. Golden has built this team around bigger, switchable guards with good usage rates (relative to TO rates) who can also defend and rebound. Klavzar is definitely the outlier.

That said, he has been another great antidote to how teams have tried to take away Clayton and get us out of our continuity action with the blitzes, hard hedges, and half court ball pressure. Klavzar is particularly good operating with little space, so he is able to turn the corner against these looks and still keep his head up. Clayton and Richard struggle with that. Martin and Aberdeen are better, but get a little out of control sometimes. Klavzar excels in those situations, though.

Another thing about Klavzar is that he knows he will only get 10 minutes or so. That means he can play harder not worrying about lasting 30 minutes.

It looked like LSU had added Klavzar to the scouting report. They guarded him really closely at first and he couldn't get any looks. But once we regrouped and started moving the ball, he got some good opportunities.

He can shoot as well as anyone and will fight his ads off thru screens . He is also a cerebral player who won’t throw stupid passes . He is my guy !

Wouldn’t that be a optimal situation for all of the guards
