Senator Lee introduces legislation for us to leave the UN

Yawn. An ineffectual body of Senatorial-like bloviators who talk, and talk, and talk. Wow, we should really care about this group. UN is right up there with The League of Nations, oh, wait….they are defunct too. NEXT!

Trump is going to force Europe to defend themselves by increasing military funding and production. If I were them that’s what I would do. Also keep funding Ukraine’s war effort. If Trump gets mad and leaves NATO I can see some of the European countries running the US military out of the military bases we occupy there. This can get messy when Trump gets his feelings hurt. If anyone can get Europe to give the US the middle finger, it’s Trump.

 

I agree with him that the entire EU and the UK specifically, since he is MI6, need to arm up. They’ve been living under the free ride security provided by US taxpayers and those days are coming to an end. Thankfully

if the UK got into a sustained conflict with pretty much anyone, they would be largely ineffective as a conventional force as they have been draining their ordinance in the Ukraine boondoggle

notice this guy was absent his “ ice cold yawn takes” when Merkel decided that Germany depending on Russia for energy was a brilliant, errr progressive and nuanced idea. This guy has the hot takes of a coward hiding behind others to fight his fights.

Two thoughts on this issue:

#1 If European nations actually develop their military capabilities does the US need to maintain the same military presence in Europe it has for the past few decades?

#2 I don't have any raw data, but I suspect the military installations in Europe generate a quite a few euros and GBPs for the people and businesses surrounding those bases. I'm not sure the Europeans want to lose that cash flow by pushing the US military out of their nations. Maybe the governments would, but I could see a lot of local folks being hurt by that move.

 

Europe gives the US the middle finger ? Trump forces them defend themselves ? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds.?…Absent US power, Europe would/could be overrun in a matter of months. Maybe the US gives Europe the middle finger and tells them we aren’t pulling their dead weight any longer. Much like Canada they have the luxury of spending pennies on the dollar for defense because they live under our protection, all the while looking down their noses. I say F them and let them feel the pressure and pay the freight.
