On his SiriusXM show, Coach K made brief, but emphatic comments on the Gators. After saying he watched part of the Auburn/Florida game, he paused and said: ". . . . WOW!!! . . . . Florida is GOOD!!!!!" He then talked briefly about how good Condon and Haugh are battling inside.
He saw how good we were in 2000. LOL. This team is special. Kind of like the 1994 team but deeper and better. They "Find a Way".
I still have my "Find a Way" t-shirt. It's probably a little snug now, but I have it. That was so much fun. Only Final Four I've been to.
With a healthy Condon, almost too deep. I'm kidding but we do have some bigs that can give away fouls now.
Problem for our opponents is that any of our guys can score at anytime. No way to focus on stopping any single player. Oh! and the Gators are all tough and play hard. GO GATORS! 1965 grad.
I'm beginning to think I like having Haugh on the floor as much as (or more than) anyone on the roster. He makes winning play after winning play, and makes very few negative plays! Great to see him getting his confidence in the 3-point shot that we were told he hit consistently in practice.
Remember what a killer combo of attributes we had in Corey Brewer, one the greatest and one of my favorite Gators ever? Lethally long, quick in defense and could nail a three consistently? High bar for Tommy but I think he can work towards that.
It's obvious Haugh worked hard on his total game between last season and this one. Just one example - He shot 45.7% from the free throw line last year; 82.6% this year. That's amazing improvement.
and CTFG did it w/o a bunch of 5* players. Take what coach K said with a grain of salt, he only saw a portion of the best game that we've played. Too small of a sampling to put much credence into it. If he watched a little of the @ slUT game, he'd say that we're over rated.
