Musk has lied multiple times since posting DOGE numbers. You should take anything he says with a grain of salt or just assume that he's continuing to lie to benefit his narrative

Interesting to see all the 100+ year old voters, especially since I keep seeing polls here saying that a majority of old folks are trump supporters.

So the argument is that he and his team are not lying, they are not competent enough to put out accurate information?

the only misstep I have seen was the condoms- y’all on the left want to discredit what he finds which I find abhorrent and anti-American. You hate that Trump and Doge are exposing fraud and waste and I cannot for the life of me understand why!!

Come on man even Musk talked about it during his oval office press conference where he says sometimes he will be wrong. The cognitive dissonance here is real

You keep calling it fraud and waste. But you've been asked multiple times to explain why the Thompson Reuters contract was fraud and waste. Why do you refuse?

Giving him the benefit of the doubt maybe he really isn't interested in verifying what he reads or hears and just misrepresents the content as being accurate because he knows Trump's supporters will accept it as being true and it will trigger the libs.

"Both Musk’s ignorance and his anti-Social Security playbook were on full display Tuesday, when the shadow president talked to reporters in the Oval Office. In trying to convince us that our extremely efficient Social Security system is rife with fraud, he unknowingly proved how economical its administration is, when he asserted, “just cursory examination of Social Security and we’ve got people in there that are 150 years old.”

No one born 150 years ago is still receiving benefits. But here is where Musk is showing his ignorance: Let’s take the example of a person who is issued a Social Security card as an infant and dies at age 10, never having received a penny of benefits. Social Security doesn’t waste taxpayer dollars finding that information and cancelling their Social Security number — this would be prohibitively expensive and wasteful.

Moreover, most adults who die leave behind spouses and children, including adult disabled children, who may be eligible for benefits for many years based on the decedent’s earnings record. Therefore, that record may remain active for a very long time. For example, the last person to receive a Civil War pension was a veteran’s disabled daughter, who died less than five years ago — in 2020.

Disturbingly, the reason Musk was able to assert the ignorant claim about 150-year-olds is that he has accessed our personal data."

Opinion: Elon Musk is coming for your Social Security

That’s actually the wildest part about this social security thing.

A lot of these are the types of people who would threaten to shoot a govt census worker who showed up at their doorstep (or at least be very paranoid about filling out forms), but it’s a-ok to just turn over far more sensitive data to a bunch of 20 something hackers with zero guardrails in place?

So a COBOL bug? This is literally the Y2K bug adding 100 years.

Speaking as someone working in IT for the government during 1999, this was a huge fundraiser for us, and we learned the details inside and out.

I don't doubt it, but it makes the story no less entertaining.

“I don’t think you can overstate how serious this breach is,” Altman said. “The information that the Social Security Administration has is a lot of personal data that most people would like to keep private and they entrusted to the government through tax returns and through their employers sending in earning statements. The assumption is that the government will be very careful with it.”

Illegal immigrants that are just as likely to vote R?

Yep, that would be MAGA Moron to a tee.

Nevermind how this would even work. So, we're creating fake SS accounts then using the money to attract illegal immigrants? Yes, so plausible. Another case (like the drone/F-35 post) where Mr. Smart Guy shows us he's not that smart afterall.

You hating on gold diggers? Maybe the law should be changed that the gold digger benefits is a % of how many years the couple was married during the SS earned years.
