Being a politician doesn't mean you have to have held elective office. You know that

Who said "elective?" I said public. What elective or appointed public office has he served in before this? If that is part of his "merit" qualification, then there should be a pretty good answer to that question.

I don't think it matters at all if RFK Jr It has held public office. I,'ve never held public office and I know I'd be the best FDA Commissioner America ever had. I'd fire every FDA employee I could because I know they do more harm than good. I want an HHS Sec who is smart, knowledgeable and not corrupt

So then saying he had the same background as his predecessor is false. So, I ask again, what is the "merit-based" case for his hiring?

RFK Jr Is a politician. Was he a member of the House like his predecessor? No and who cares? Bobby Jr was a lawyer just like his predecessor and he has a 25 year history of fighting to make Americans healthier by litigating against Big Pharma, the NIH and it's sub-agencies. He seems to understand medical science and has always been open to debating people with opposing views. Bobby believes in "radical transparency" and he wants families to understand the true safety and effectiveness of vaccines. He will expose Big Pharma and gov't corruption. Can't wait.

Bobby's one area of expertise is environmental law. Administrator of the EPA is the one position for which he is exceptionally well qualified. He would have never been selected by the Trump Administration for that position because Kennedy's positions on clean air and clean water including limiting carcinogenic substances are inconsistent with the Trump Administration's position of dismantling the administrative state and allowing industry free reign to dump toxic substances into the environment.

Cool. Who knew that I was a Professional Basketball player? I mean, nobody has paid me money to play basketball, but that is apparently not part of declaring your job!

So basically, all you have is "he is a lawyer" as a merit based hiring criteria, which also applies to literally hundreds of thousands of people in this country. Sounds very "merit" based.

Scientists are discovering some new things about how dangerous the Zika virus is. Seems like it might be useful to have some organization that would be concerned about this, like a Center for Disease Control. Shame that Trump and RFK are tearing our CDC down.

If you get bit by a mosquito with Zika, your genetics get altered in such a way that your skin releases more volatile chemicals that attract more mosquitoes. This helps the virus gets passed on to the next mosquito that bites you, and that mosquito picks up the virus and delivers it to other people.

Bad news for republicans: Zika is expected to cost $95 billion by 2070. So much for saving money.

Worse news for republicans: Global Warming is expanding the range of these mosquitoes and the virus.

Scientist reveals disturbing way Zika virus affects humans: 'It actively manipulates human biology to ensure its survival'

I remember when the U.S. was much smarter than this. When was that time when we had more brains than we do now? Oh, yeah, the early 2020's (up to October 2024)!

Before we all rush out to get our Zika vaccines, remember that virologists are not people who are starting with an effect and finding the cause. Rather, they start with the presumed cause and create the effect.

RFK Jr not wasting any time. He’s already banned artificial dyes that aren’t killing anybody.

In West Texas the measles is coming back.

    Winning!

    https://archive.ph/vESWO

in the oil towns of west Texas a measles outbreak is spreading. At least 58 people have been infected and 13 are in hospital, the biggest surge in Texas in 30 years. Health officials reckon hundreds more cases have yet to be detected. Gaines County, where the flare-up began, had the state’s third-highest share of children exempt from measles and other vaccines for religious or philosophical reasons last year. In the decade to 2023 the rate of schoolchildren without the recommended jabs there more than doubled, from 7% to 18%
