The 2024 American Family Survey reportedly found that 37% of conservative women and 28% of moderate women, between the ages of 18-40, reported being “completely satisfied” with their lives, but just 12% of liberal women in the same age group said the same.

According to his analysis, 40% of liberal women reported being single, while 31% said they were married.

For conservative women, 33% reported being single and 51% were married.

The remaining women on both sides of the political aisle reported being “in a committed relationship” or “cohabiting” with a partner.

Why So Blue: Liberal Women are Less Happy, More Lonely. But Why?

Surprising a think tank dedicated to promoting marriage and family would come to the conclusion that marriage and family make people happier

Helpful. Maybe it does have interesting findings.
But know reading it, the survey is sponsored by BYU - Wheatley Institute. A Christian Conservative group.

    Their mission statement:
“Accordingly, Wheatley Institute engages students, scholars, thought leaders, and the public in research-supported work that fortifies the core institutions of the family, religion, and constitutional government.”

I'm not sure that the survey is completely inaccurate although I do think there is a built in bias since people who identify as political and social conservatives are less likely to admit that they may have mental health problems considering that there is much more of a stigma among to seeking help among conservatives than there is among liberals.
Political conservatives more likely to stigmatize mentally ill people, study finds
Do values and political attitudes affect help-seeking? Exploring reported help-seeking for mental health problems in a general population sample using a milieu framework - PMC
Do conservatives really have better mental health? Perhaps not. – Cooperative Election Study Blog
So, do conservatives have better mental health than liberals? It would appear not. Something else is going on. The stigma surrounding mental health among conservatives and older citizens is likely inflating these groups’ evaluations of their own mental health. Conservatives and those over the age of 55 report significantly more positive evaluations when asked about their mental health compared to their overall mood.
Older people may hold negative views about mental health brought about by stigmas that existed when they were growing up. Older generations grew up with less mental health awareness, and oftentimes mental illnesses were looked down upon. Conservatives may also view mental illness as a sign of weakness. One study found that conservatives were more likely to hold stigmatized views of people with mental illnesses. Thus, in describing their own mental health, conservatives might want to reinforce this separation between themselves and those with mental illnesses. When the prevailing narrative among one’s community or social network portrays mental health struggles as indicative of weakness rather than something that needs to be helped, it makes sense that older people and conservatives would want to downplay their own mental health struggles. Rather than reflect a genuine difference, it appears that the ideological “mental health gap” is driven, at least in part if not entirely, by stigma surrounding the term among those on the right.

Right, and also self-sorting that people who need help tend to look toward people who provide it.

Soviet Union: those who do not agree with the party are mentally ill and must be re educated. You really want to go down that rabbit hole?

It must be nice to live in the fantasyland where Trump is king, everyone is white, where the air is warmed by glow of burning books, and schools are free fire zones.

This explains everything, especially this board!!! I knew liberalism was a mental illness.

The authors also found that the more educated a teen’s family was, the more likely the young people were to be depressed, and the more dramatic their rise in depression was after 2012.

Conservatives do not just report higher levels of happiness, they also report higher levels of meaning in their lives. The effects of conservatism seem to be enhanced when conservatives are surrounded by others like themselves.

Conservatives are more likely to be patriotic and religious. They are more likely to be (happily) married and less likely to divorce. Religiosity, in turn, correlates with greater subjective and objective well-being (here, here, here). So does patriotism. So does marriage. Consequently, some have argued that the apparent psychological benefit of conservatism actually comes fromfeeling deeper connections with one’s country, one’s family, and the Divine.

In a similar vein, studies have repeatedly found that conservatives—both politicians and laymen—tend to be more conventionally attractive than liberals (and have better sex lives)

    “To report”

You know, as in acknowledging reality.
