This will help to unload a lot of the Biden Administration's unneeded hiring and those based on his DEI orders.

Three 1/2 weeks in office is an amazingly short time for all of Trump's accomplishments. Forget the first 100 days or even the first year, this is record breaking winning. Promises made, promises kept.

At some point soon, Trump will have to get the House and Senate to get all that needs to be done by midyear. Trump's tax cuts must be made permanent no later than midyear.

Cut unemployment, food stamps, and any other programs that may help those who are losing their jobs ( federal and otherwise). Makes one wonder what their end game is? A lot more homeless people. Ship them to " blue states", put them in camps, or just hope they somehow " go away".

    Sez you, armchair QB.
How do you know the services are unneeded? Has there been any kind of audit process to determine this? Of course not. Just fire employees and shut down departments at-will. Own the libs.

Hope you won't be needing any government services, because it's unlikely your red state governance will pick up the tab from the feds.

LOL! Stick your fist in a pan of water. The hole left behind when you withdraw your fist is how much these probation workers are needed.

LOL! You don't need proof from me, and you certainly wouldn't take proof from the Trump Administration/DOGE so buzz off. We won, you lost. Promises made, promises kept.

BTW, Slick Willie did a lot of firings too.

Also, this could be career employees who have multiple years of Fed service but recently transferred agencies and had to restart a new probation period.

And you know that they were redundant because maybe a dozen software engineers hired by Elon Musk were able to audit 200,000 positions in a period of two weeks.

expendable just because they are federal employees. It does not matter what their skills were, what they were tasked with, or even if their tasks benefit the taxpayers.....

They haven't been let go yet, so the consequences are unknown. I would expect unemployment to rise dramatically.

So when is DeSantis going to start firing government workers and shutting down services here in Florida? He needs to get with this MAGA (Misery and Gratuitous Agony) program.

The reason that the 200,000 probationary employees are being terminated is because they represent low hanging fruit. They have fewer rights than permanent employees making it easier to terminate them. Musk is only concerned with numbers not with actually increasing the efficiency of the federal government. There are undoubtedly a number of positions that can and should be eliminated and to determine which ones every government agency should have been ordered to conduct an audit to determine which positions are redundant or unnecessary. Co-President Musk and the boys didn't conduct or order such audits. It's also more logical to reduce the number of employees by offering older employees early retirement than to can probationary employees or offering other employees eight months severance if they agree to leave. Younger employees are much more likely to be innovative and think outside the box than an employee who has been with an agency over 20 years and is waiting until he or she becomes eligible to retire under the normal criteria.

I would add that 30% of federal employees are vets.

That is one of the “thank you for your service” perks for being a vet. My dad retired from the PO after the Army.

My dad is fire breathing MAGA—except for the Post Office. He will ruin Thanksgiving with telling you how horrible gubmnt is OR telling you wrong you are about the PO being a loser.

    Your choice!
