Would Tesla even notice a 400MM PO? Don’t they do like 100 billion a year in revenue. That’s less than half a percent of their revenue

Just checked. Looks like a pprox 5% bump today, so seems to have registered a bit. Fwiw.

why do civilian agencies need armored tesla trucks

who is going to tell them no? the whole shock and awe effect is to inspire fear and intimidation. the easiest opponent to defeat is the one who willfully surrenders for their own self interests.

it isn't the order, it is the blatant willingness to throw out all forms of C & B or legality and reward his allies the benefits of the treasury

Apparently they are being bought by the State Department. I am assuming for foreign embassies, but that is just my guess.

"Armored Tesla" (was) forecast to win $400 million State Department contract after Trump's election
So, as noted upthread, this may be some kind of hidden gotcha from the Biden admin and it seems to have worked pretty well. DOGE has patted itself on the back for rooting out a '$1.4M contract to physically observe mailing and clerical operations' but the $400M largest expected contract on the State Dept. procurement forecast somehow slipped under the radar. :emoji_joy:

They do less than $18B, so a little over 2%, but point taken. Still, if it goes through there'll probably be more contracts coming so this could just be the camel's nose in the door of the china shop.

My bad. I let google autofill and clicked on profit instead of revenue.

You can do business with the government or be in the government. You can’t do both. Unless you are a republican. Then it is ok. No problem.

lol. 18 b and too bad for that. I could live on it.
What’s more insane is, if that 18 is accurate, then teslas netting almost 20 percent. I’d say he knows how to cut costs.

It definitely didn’t. I’m not a fan of someone involved in govt getting contracts but this is so insignificant to Tesla’s bottom line it’s irrelevant. My question would be was Tesla the lowest bidder.
My other question would be what is Maxine waters, Mitch McConnell and Chuck shumer so worried about? Lindsey graham and pelosi are probly sweating bullets as well as the other 75 percent of both houses.
