Just got home and hoped I could catch the final inning or two, but it was already over. Looked at the stats and saw another easy win. Keagan seems to have more control over her pitches this year, as last year her pitch counts got up there sometimes. Glad to see her get to swing the bat some. Erickson with a triple and HR, Cahalan with a bomb, Mia another HR. Tayor kind of dogged it tonght with a lowly single and RBI :D. Lots of softball this week. Giess tomorrow's game vs. Boston College is only on the radio. But I'll be tuning in.

CTW waited until the three pitches into the batter's count before pinch running for Erickson. At this stage of the game, its about letting the bench get some action, right? This has occurred many times before and I'm not sure why he doesn't sub immediately. Is there strategy to this or does he just not think about it (which seems difficult to believe).

How is this supposed to work?
Pop to shallow left -- Cahalan backpedaling calling BALL, Otis rushing in. Does Otis have priority to call off Cahalan or once Cahalan calls BALL is it her's? How does the priority work on that?
Didn't work out to well -- lol.

I didn't see the play but outfield should have priority on a ball in shallow outfield if they can get to it.

Standard rule at all levels of baseball and softball-player coming in has priority over player going out

Didn’t see it mentioned but Taylor got absolutely robbed by a web gem in the first by the right fielder making a fantastic diving catch at the track in right center. Should have been an rbi triple.

The No. 2 Florida softball team dominated Stetson, achieving an 11-0 run-rule victory to extend their winning streak to 8-0. This marks their sixth run-rule win in eight games, with Florida scoring double digits for the fifth time this season. The Gators have now outscored their opponents 74-9, allowing just eight earned runs in 45 innings. Florida's power was evident as they hit three home runs, including Kenleigh Cahalan's first as a Gator. Sophomore pitcher Keagan Rothrock continued her strong performance in the circle, striking out seven and maintaining a 0.00 ERA over 19 innings pitched this season.

    By the Numbers
    • Florida improves to 8-0 on the season with six run-rule victories.
    • The Gators have hit 18 home runs, leading the nation.
    Yes, But
Despite their strong performance, facing tougher opponents in upcoming games could test Florida's consistency and depth as the season progresses.

    State of Play
    • Florida's next challenge is against Boston College in the Bubly Invitational.
    • Key players like Kendra Falby and Jocelyn Erickson are making significant contributions this season.
    What's Next
As Florida gears up for the Bubly Invitational, fans will be watching to see if the Gators can maintain their winning streak and offensive prowess against stronger competition.

    Bottom Line
The Gators' sizzling start to the season showcases their offensive power and pitching dominance, but sustaining this momentum against tougher challenges will be crucial as the season unfolds.
