Europe, arena…there’s several other options to get payed to play football, they just suck. CFL is an option for canadians, but there’s some residency restrictions that would prevent americans from going there straight out of hs.

 

What pro option do they have? USFL (or whatever the hell it's called today)?

You may be right, but I have a hard time believing this isn't a factor as football is so unique in this respect. They truly have no real options other than to go to college.

 

If that was a factor, why didn’t the courts force the schools to pay them for their play instead of simply allowing them to be payed by third parties for their NIL?

 

A bridge too far? The NIL money was already there, but they couldn't take it? Meanwhile there was no salary structure in place in college. My best guess.

 

Remember, the lawsuit that started all this was started by basketball players and initially over a video game. It’s had a large effect on college football, but it’s bigger than just that.

 

That's what I mean. That money was already there and being offered (or due them due to use of NIL), but they were being denied, unfairly according to the courts. Salaries, contracts, etc. That only exists in theory, if that.

 

Dont think arena and europe pays what college does do they?
