The "could" part will depend on whether or not Donny caves again after 15 minutes, for the 5th time ...

Are we to believe Trump is putting tariffs on or not? He said it was for the trade imbalance that is somehow adding to our national debt.. it doesn’t. But then he postponed it for border concessions that were debatably in place. So is it border issues or trade deficits or budget deficits that is the issue we are solving and will solve?

The big caveat to “could” is that the tariffs might not happen.

If tariffs are put in place, the “could” becomes will. It’s simple tariff math not differential equations.

no, not a across the board 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada. He already did that and received swift blowback. (Imo) he won’t do it again.

You have a point. The price incrase resulting from Trump's tariffs may only be an additional $1,000 to $2,000. While the estimated $6,000 increase in the cost of a new car is at the high end of the range there is little doubt that thanks the stable genius the price of cars will increase significantly.

"Could" fits their narrative... It is simply Leftist's scare tactics used to pass their hypothetical off as fact. These Leftist "could" grow another head and pass into an alternate reality.

If someone can’t afford a particular car, they should by a less expensive one.

Yes, I’m sure this is the attitude people will have when it’s the government adding tax to cars that makes them not able to afford a car. :emoji_joy:

I think the numbers laid out explain why these tariffs are unlikely to happen. They could happen. But the consequences would be dire and unpopular.

Adding that Trump is very unpredictable it's very possible that Trump will end up doing what it he did during his first term when he renegotiated NAFTA with minor tweaks and renamed it the USMCA and proclaiming it the greatest trade agreement in history. This time Trump will renegotiate his original USMCA rename it and once again proclaim that he negotiated the greatest trade agreement in history and that he was able get such a great deal through his threat of tariffs.
