    Re: broadcast schedule.
    My email to Lauren Staff:
    “To: Lauren Staff <LaurenS@gators.ufl.edu>
    Subject: Early Season Games

I pestered you earlier about video for early season games.
Just saw your release and checked the schedule and ESPN’s schedule and find nothing confirmed after the Stetson game next Wednesday.
Can you tell me the status of the remainder of the early season home games.
    Thanks for your prompt reply.”

    Her reply:
“With the exception of the first Duke game which will be on SEC Network Plus, we will not be broadcasting the remaining tournament games.”

To me and Gator Fans everywhere who can’t attend games, this is a major disappointment to miss at least 10 games in the two home tournaments.

Appears you are correct. Auburn has two home games on SEC+ on Friday but none on Saturday when UF/Auburn basketball is played. Perhaps they can do one more simultaneous event than us. Just for the heck of it....through Friday UCF has three home games on; A&M has three home games on; USC has two home games on; Auburn has two home games on; and LSU has two home games on. In other words, through Friday the SEC teams that are playing at home have not missed a broadcast.

Appears there will be live stats but you can add some perspective. I'm probably missing the obvious but what is "OGT" being talked about as the place to post it?

After 10+ years, i wasnt guessing..;) AU Sunday game will be on also

If theres a 9 pm basketball.. then nothing else all day. If no bball, everything else is shown, no limits. makes zero sense. At minimum, at least put a camera behind homeplate and go then you can go watch basketball. And when hours apart it makes even less sense

When I miss a diamond sports event for Womens game, I really get irritated. I hope the 4 people watching that crap are happy.

My guess is that CTW goes with Rothrock to start opening day. She's our ace. He may use 2 or 3 pitchers depending on how the game goes, but to me it's an honor to be the opening day pitcher in softball and baseball and so that honor will go to our best. Just my opinion, though. We'll see.

I’m thinking UNF will pitch Allison Benning, who was a second team All American last year (1.86 ERA). Pretty doggone good…

Here are some softball predictions from what seem to be mostly Big 12 region writers.

Half of them pick Texas and half pick Florida to win the SEC. A couple pick Texas and a couple pick Florida to win the national title as well. Though oddly, no one picks either team to do both. I guess you can only win the SEC or the WCWS.

It may also have something to do with how many production crews they have available. I know when I spoke at length with Alicia Longworth, the Asst. AD who controlled all tv broadcasts, a couple years ago (nothing has changed) I asked her why if softball gets bumped on Friday for gymnastics and baseball and gets bumped on Saturday for baseball and basketball, why doesn't she broadcast the softball Sunday game when the only other event is baseball. She said it is partly logistics...moving equipment to KSP but mostly because the same crews handle all of the stuff on Friday and Saturday and she needs to give them a break. You can debate that but that's what she said. Some folks might not realize that for all broadcasts the production and camera crews are our employees. Even if ESPN is in town. If ESPN is in town they may or may not bring their mobile production truck but the camera crew will be the very same people we see every game and if they don't bring their truck it is using our broadcast facility. ESPN doesn't bring in cameras or camera operators.

Theyve(AU) used same excuse every year. Not enough room in production room. So yeah, when espn/secn(reg tv crews) for bbal , I guess they take up all the room..

That excuse was valid 10 years ago a 100 million+ $ of upgrades ago.

And apparently they take up to much room ALL DAY..lol I can somewhat accept if games are over lapping

I just noticed next Sundays baseball game is listed on secn+,, thre is also a home W bball that day...hmmm maybe theyve improved slightly,,, or just listed wrong.. believe it when i see it

We should take lessons from UCF. Or perhaps they just have better broadcasting facilities. They are broadcasting EVERY game of their tournament. Not like USF who only broadcasts the games USF plays, or us...since we don't even broadcast our own games. (Of course, Tim could choose to play in the UCF tournament instead of USF and we would see every game...but he won't.)

FSU dropped one to Okie State in Puerto Vallarta. Okie State behind Ruby Mehlan, who transferred from Washington, pretty much dominated them. FSU almost got run ruled in the 6th. It was 9-2 and State had the winning run on second when the inning ended. FSU got a bunch in the 7th off of a relief pitcher and it ended 9-6, I think. Beachum is a flat out stud though for FSU and she is only a sophomore. She went yard twice.
