So good to see him go 2 for 2 on 3s tonight. We needed it too. He has been struggling with his shot since he was cleared, but hopefully tonight was a big confidence boost for him! Lots of guys stepping up to fill the void left by Clayton's absence, and Urban was one of them. A long time coming for him
Very big. That 6-foot baseline floater should have gone in too. He looked a lot more comfortable in general out there.
I've been hoping he gets more minutes all year. I hope he continues to get some run. Even 5-10 would be great for him to get comfortable with SEC game speed. We may need him again, and we could certainly use another body in the rotation
It’ll be interesting how he shoots moving forward. I felt if he could have one night like tonight it’d change him. That rim has to look bigger now.
Early in the game he had a number of really good looks from the arc and didn't take them. I was screaming for him to let it fly.
Checking the box score, I must retract my statement. He's listed as 2 for 2 from 3, so he must have had a toe on the line when he missed the one in the first half. It had to be frustrating to him to see that nifty layup go down yet somehow spin its way right back out of the hoop. Under the radar tonight, Isaiah Brown had some good moments as well.
Good to see Urban out there making a difference. His defense was not bad either, although he did get beat once, but no biggie. Hopefully with his shots falling tonight will help his confidence going forward. I've heard that he makes those 3s all day long at practice...
Yeah that little baseline floater or whatever it was bounced around the rim for 5 seconds before missing, He does have some crafty moves
I think a whistle was called on that missed 3 so didn’t count as a shot attempt. His 2 missed 2’s were that in and out shot and the guy coming in out of nowhere to block his open shot from behind.
That makes sense. I never could understand or get what they were blowing the whistle on for most of the game. Knock a guy into the 5th row? Play on! Look at him a little too much? Hard foul!
Is Urban playing through a injury? He kept raising his shooting arm while on the bench looking like he was trying to stretch it out. There was also a bandaid there that indicates he may have gotten a shot there?
Yeah no kidding, not exactly consistent, but inconsistent reffing has been consistent for us all year
He has great court vision and makes really quick reads, very creative passer too, especially in tight spaces
Good question. He hasn't been on the IR but might've got banged up during the game or maybe in practice.
Would love to see Victor Mikic and Bennet Anderson get some minutes. Allow some more depth to help when someone goes down. Urban and Big Sam, I agree were the catalysts down the second half stretch. Couldn’t be happier for them. CTG found some help last night and his recruiting shows that other players riding the bench could at least get their feet wet before the tournament wars. Big Sam hit a three to put us up, an inside shot and either a key block or rebound. Backups leading the surge to overtake Vanderbilt.
