So.. has Ukraine war been resolved yet? Trump may be spreading his mythical peace power too thin. Color me impressed.

Imagine being a Jill Stein supporter right now because you were convinced Harris was worse than Trump for the war in Gaza. Third party voters are the worst.

The two are not mutually exclusive. And we aren’t going to do either, so it’s a moot point.

I concur and of course, I was being jocular. It’s very entertaining to watch DJT whip the libs into a frenzy every single day. These words about Gaza and the Palestinians are nothing more than yet another negotiation tactic and frankly Trump would be stupid not to utilize the leverage.

Indeed, if international law mattered, most of Gaza would still be standing. Law is only for the other people outside our protection racket.

Honestly, I have no idea what the game here is with a proposal that the left and right would oppose in lockstep. But if the thinking here is to suggest something so outlandish and reprehensible to the Arab states that they throw up their hands and say, “Fine! We’ll take back Gaza and the West Bank!” then I will be fascinated to see if it works.

I think the Palestinians will have to leave Gaza at least for a few years if the goal is to rebuild it to something habitable and sustainable infrastructure wise. It's virtually uninhabitable now. So, the Egyptians and Jordanians were presented with the idea of taking in the Palestinians for a few years while the rebuild took place and they flatly rejected that proposal.

It could wind up being a scenario where the U.S. pays off Egypt and Jordan to take the refugees for a few years. U.S. annexes Gaza, rebuilds with a firm agreement to allow the Palestinians back into Gaza after the rebuild is complete (maybe 5 years?). U.S. then allows Gaza to operate as an autonomous region. Palestinians are given the opportunity to elect a democratic government and one that will hold. After some years, Gaza could be handed back to the Palestinians. In this way, American ownership ensures stability while Palestinians prove they can reside there without electing a terrorist regime to lead their government.

While I've been critical of Israeli bombing raids, ultimately, I want what is best for the Palestinian people and imo, that would be a pretty good solution. And there has to be an acknowledgement of what happened on October 7th, 2023. Like it or not, the people of Gaza are not in a position to tell Israel and the U.S. how best to secure their land. That ship sailed on October 7th. The only way Israel is going to accept Palestinian rule in Gaza is if they have elected a democratic government that is thoroughly legitimate. Frankly, Israel may be banking on the fact that will never happen and that U.S. ownership will continue on indefinitely. Israel would be just fine with such a scenario.

Trump floating permanent U.S. ownership of Gaza sounds a lot like "Canada would make a great 51st state." Getting people wound up about something that will never happen, but having the effect of gaining concessions from the other players in the region in doing so. Which seems like a much better plan than simply allowing the Gazans to go back home (which is uninhabitable) and acting like nothing ever happened. But everybody get outraged because CNN told you to be outraged.

Thanks for admitting what we all know, that MAGA's only motivation is to "wind up libs." Nice to have documentation of your moronic depravity.

And most of Gaza would be standing if Hamas didn't launch its terrorist attack against Israel on October 7, 2023.

Let's see... doing the same thing over and over again and again and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity... been said many times before.

Unfortunately... the Dems will demand insanity.
