Auburn and Duke seems to have separated themselves with convincing wins Saturday, but many in the top 25 experienced more surprising losses than us. #3 Iowa State loses at home by 19 to unranked Kansas State #6 Houston loses at home to #22 Texas Tech in overtime #7 Michigan State loses at unranked USC #9 Marquette loses at home to #25 UConn #11 Kansas loses at unranked Baylor, blowing a big lead #12 Kentucky loses at home to unranked Arkansas #14 Mississippi State loses at home by 27 to #20 Missouri Finally, Gonzaga, unranked but the darling of all net rankings and oddsmakers, lost at St Marys
Feels like if you're going to have a dud, it was a good weekend to get it over with. On the road against a ranked opponent is better than at home against a team under .500
I can't understand how Mizzou is ranked so low. They have one of the best wins in conference beating us in the O'Dome. Right now, I would put Auburn, Bama and Mizzou as the top 3 teams in the SEC, with us at 4. So how are we ranked 5 and they are ranked 20? They even have a win over Kansas. I think they will make a big jump in the next poll.
Kansas now looking like they were overrated early, and Mizzou got smoked by Auburn on the road. They play at UT next and still have games against Bama and UK at home. Let’s see how they close it out. I’d say they’re about on par with us so far.
