Lots of 1 fors----Condon 1-6, Chinleyu 1-2, Richard 1-2 (how does one of your best shooters only get two shots), Haugh 1-6, Aberdeen 1-6.
TBA is a much tougher atmosphere to play at than Auburn. This team is capable of beating anyone, don’t count your chickens before they hatch.
Molly-whopped. Flush it and move on Maybe time for coaching staff to introduce some new wrinkles on offense. When I can sit here and almost call out which action they are running before they run it, then you know the guys who actually prep for these games know them too
Who was that team out there today? 44 points? C'mon man, how is that even possible? We have no shot at winning the SEC with 3 losses and a road trip to Auburn next Saturday, so I guess we just try to enjoy a few wins before tournament time and see what happens.
Credit to Rick Barnes. Good coach that got his guys ready to play at home in a big game as they already had 4 sec losses. Sucks for UF, but flush and move on as they say. Don't let the loss linger.
If Richard and Martin both don’t show up, we have no chance to win against a good team on the road. Our post guys are basically rebounders, not scorers.
When Clayton is hurt and Richard and Martin don't show up, we lose. Everything about today was bad. Offense, defense....and especially our shooting. Atrocious. Can't let this turn into another loss at home on Tuesday.
You can't win when 5 of your 8 players only get one field goal a piece. 5-22 combined. Haugh, Condon, and Chinyelu took two jump shoots combined. That means they shot 3 for 12 against an undersized front line in the paint. The only big that had any success was Alexis who shot 3 for 6. Good game for him. This is only one game, but it was a game we were supposed to win with Tennessee only playing 7 scholarship players and with 2 of their starters out. Compound the blow out loss with the injury to Clayton and it was just not a good day. Let's make adjustments like pressing a point guardless team from the very beginning, and we will bounce back. All kinds of weather!! Go Gators!!!!
Florida Gators Men's Basketball History vs University of Tennessee This was the 8th straight loss to Tennessee in Knoxville. Florida has not won at Tennessee since the 2014 season when UF went 18-0 (21-0) in the SEC. To get this team's attention, somebody should have told those players of these results before stepping off the plane in Knoxville. Last 10 matchups: 3-7 (all were home victories) Florida record at Tennessee: 18-51.
In other SEC games, Missouri is winning handily over Mississippi St, 62-41 with about 11 minutes to go. There goes 3rd place in the SEC for Florida who drops to a 4th place tie with numerous teams.
We are historically inept when playing at Tennessee. Our back-to-back NC team played there and trailed by over 30 points in that game. Even that win in 2014 was extremely close and came down to the last minute. I never expect a win in that arena, no matter the circumstances. History says we won’t play well.
So many bad memories playing there…we’ve lost there in every way imaginable….to multiple teams & coaches. I’m still scratching my head that we’re not better prepared for a team that defends us with a lot or hands & body contact and we haven’t figured out a counter punch yet.
So how did Clayton get hurt? I only saw the last few minutes of the game, including when he tried to plant the outside of his left foot and slid to the bench
