So are you saying ICE and CBP were too "woke" ... ok lol. The cops werent racist enough, that's a first. I'm sure they were doing land acknowledgements or kneeling for George Floyd before they raided a meat packing plant. Now they can get back to the important stuff like rounding up brown people.

Donald Trump and the right-wing media never let the actual facts get in the way of a good story. They prefer "alternative facts" with Trump's willfully ignorant supporters accepting every utterance from the Dear Leader as the absolute truth.

 

Ask yourself this - why do you assume a candidate from a diverse background is inferior to a white candidate?

Here's an interesting one for you.... a study from the Univ of Michigan law school. They famously had a program that enabled minority candiates to get into the law school, despite lower LSAT scores and grades than the typical admission. The study evaluated the success of these diversity candidates 1970-1996. You know what they found? They were still good enough to be successful in school, in their careers, and financially... just like the "regular" students. They also found that they did more pro bono work, and represented under-served minority communities more.

But don't take my word from it... here's the conclusion from the study:

Maybe it's just me but it seems to be implicit in most of your posts on the subject.

 

You seem to be confusing DEI with Affirmative Action. And you offer no factual basis for claiming failure of DEI programs.
The concept of DEI was developed to encourage respect for all groups, and overcome inherent biases.

Lord help us if American society is remade in YOUR image.

 

When you state "DEI initiatives which watered down the talent level" (your exact quote above), you are suggesting that a DEI hire has less talent than a non-DEI (white/male?) hire. Less talent implies less capable, which implies inferior. That's your personal subconscious bias. Look, we all have them. I'm not attacking you. I'm pointing this out in the hopes it raises awareness and spawns some self-reflection.

 

I don't think he's confused. Brainwashed is a more suitable term. Everything you hear and every dog whistle is controlled by a small group. They pick a strategy, meet with a few politicians and then the next thing you know it's all over right wing media and articles are posted on here.

Literally all human beings have subconscious bias about almost everything. It’s how our brains operate. So denying you have ANY subconscious bias is already a problem. Admitting you have a bias is basically admitting your brain is working idk why people get so sensitive about it.

 

I love how our resident snowflake disagrees with my premise, which is not uniquely mine it’s psychological and neurological fact. most of the information we digest and then use to make decisions happens below the level of active consciousness. Even simple things like driving are mostly automatic.

 

If you think I'm an ultra-progressive, I don't think we're going to have an honest conversation on any topic. FWIW, I was a registered republican for nearly 3 decades, NPA since the events of Jan 6.

But please, explain how denigration of anything "DEI" isn't rooted on the premise that those candidates are inherently inferior... I'm all ears.
