He was surprisingly arrogant and brazen. When he was caught and - deny deny deny - I assumed - ‘great, another big-time politician will get away with it.’ Good to see justice won out this time. 11 years was more than I expected.
Wouldn't surprise me if Trump commuted his sentence although probably not immediately. Trump really doesn't consider corruption to be a crime and there is precedent. During his first term Trump commuted the sentence of Rod Blagojevich the former governor of Illinois and another Democrat convicted of corruption who was also sentenced to a long term. I guess the difference in that Blago had already served several years when Trump commuted his sentence while Menendez has yet to serve a day.

Daibes was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined $1.75 million. Hana was sentenced to a little more than eight years in prison and fined $1.3 million. Menendez was not fined for his part in the corruption. Menendez, 71, represented New Jersey for more than 18 years in the U.S. Senate. He resigned in August after the convictions. He got away with this for a long time, I guess Joe didn't like him
