I believe even the Trump administration intends to continue foreign aid to Israel and Egypt - two countries which border Gaza. Seems to me that it's in our financial best interest going forward for things in Gaza to improve and stabilize. Then again, I don't know the current numbers and also not suggesting the United States should be on its own in trying to help either.
We paid to destroy it, seems only fair. That's the cost of having a client state, right? If Iran wants to rebuild Gaza are the US and Israel gonna be like "thanks!"
I guess it was a couple of months before the election. Now that the fate of the republic is sealed, the stomach-turning suspense is over.
TDS is indeed a disease. One variation is that when Trump or the Trump Administration fabricates a story and repeats it ad infinitum individuals afflicted with the condition believe it without doing minimal research to confirm its validity. By the way the origin of the story that the US gave $50,000,000 to Hamas for condoms which was absurd on its face originated with Elon Musk's DOGE.
Musk is scheduled to bring the astronauts back in March. Meanwhile he plans to deliver them some condoms in February. Although after he delivers the condoms, they may not want to come back in March.
Haven’t read all the bickering, but I really doubt we spent $23 per person in Gaza on condoms. Especially when we have spent $0 on condoms for the last four years before last on condoms.
I have no issue with aid in the world. My point is it likely wasnt even distributed properly, and a lot likely ended up going to waste.
Tilly Whispers: "because I work for a global non profit and I see how the government screws up so much of what we could do better if they stayed out of the way."
No one agrees with you more than companies like DuPont. State Secures $110 Million Settlement with DuPont for Environmental Restoration Along Ohio River
Oh. I must just not be aware of all the US corporations and their mega-efficient programs to deliver huge quantities of global aid. Any links to those? Maybe Elon Musk and DOGE have some super excellent plans to replace all the programs funded by USAID?
To be clear, I am not talking about regulation over private enterprise for the protection of people against their greedy interests. I support that whole heartedly. I am talking about how the government is far less equipped to do the work that many non profits do. (He specifically mentioned his wife's work with a non profit and asked me why I felt like I do so I added my perspective)
