Fair. Perhaps “more inefficient”. We will see. The privatization of govt for profit motive will get libertarians excited.
I believe the first six words you typed. Our government is built on the premise of our Constitution. Color me shocked that you don’t support it. Birth right citizenship is the 14th amendment, but I’m guessing you cheered the violation of that cornerstone when the order was signed to revoke Americans’ rights. You probably think LEO, fireman, teachers, and public healthcare workers are slime on your shoe as well.
All these idiots talking about burn it all down forgot they live under it and the rafters will fall on their head too
disagree. If you are on THfSG, you likely are doing just fine and won’t miss a beat. This place is far from the bottom economic rung of society that will be hurting.
They have all demonstrated a vast gap in knowledge of how the world works. Every single program in the federal, state, and local governments were created to fill a need for the citizens. Parks and recreation for children to have a safe outdoors place to explore and socialize, LEOs to come to the rescue, EPA as a response to private corporations destroying our water sources (rivers to toxic to drink and that could be lit on fire), soldiers to protect our country, teachers to educate our youth, the tax collectors to help pay for it all, etc. When these individuals show up to a National Wildlife Refuge to find the doors locked and no one answers the phone when the next natural disaster strikes, they will use it as confirmation bias to show they were right. I cannot fathom having the lack of knowledge it must take to stand on a hill and scream such nonsense.
Make no mistake about it. When they drop the interest rates so they can crank up Wall Street and raise tariffs that will be passed on to consumers, 99% of the citizens will feel the bite.
In the short term, I agree. It’s equilibrium. If federal income taxes go down on business and labor, it gets back to the government in the form of higher prices via tarrifs and a regressive taxation through a consumption based economy. There would be a decline in non-profit charities because there is no income tax deduction.
Govt can be good, unfortunately it’s mostly just a necessary evil. You seem to have your identity wrapped up in government and feel a strong emotional attachment for it.
Let’s assume for a second this is true. How is paying the competent 20 year employees to retire going to help improve service?
People with talent are gonna take the pay and go find another job. Those who stick around are going to to be the least qualified to work somewhere else. Common sense
My identity is wrapped in my wife and kids. My goals have always been to leave the world a better place as my forefathers did. Four generations of military and government service will give someone a sense of pride in what is done right in service to our country and communities. When others use blanket statements to call millions of civil servants evil, I will most certainly point out their folly. We’re hard working Americans that help Americans. My family has done everything from fighting the wars, to building bridges, inspecting daycares, teaching children, and guarding convicted felons. Federal employees perform work that benefits our society. We are soldiers, teachers, engineers, etc. Many who have worked in both government and private sectors. You could support those that serve to help and protect, but you choose to refer to us all as lazy, piece of trash moochers because a billionaire politician and his mouthpieces have your best interests at heart? I’ve fired lazy workers in both the private and public sectors. People who have never worked in service of others have no clue what the government does and usually no clue how it came about that the government inherited those responsibilities. You have two friends that would disagree with me, but are they lazy and evil people? I suspect that you don’t apply your opinion to those you have befriended. I would never tell a pharmacist their worth as I do not know what the work entails in education, their motivation for pursuing the work, nor the effort given to accomplish their tasks. To stand outside the walls and opine wisdom of that within is an opinion that carries little weight. “I’m not ashamed to confess I am ignorant of what I do not know.” - Marcus Cicero Had you narrowed your scope to a singular point, it could be discussed in detail, but blanket statements show only that one requires that blanket to feel secure.
AKA, adverse selection. People know their own talent level better than their employer. Adverse selection - Wikipedia
That's exactly what we're going to get. The early-19th Century spoils system and shit like this every time we change POTUS.
He's just baiting you. Don't take the bait. You're just going to get more goofy one liners from someone who stopped reading halfway into the first paragraph.
I suspect they'll be able to pour gas in the carburetor long enough to hold that off until the next sucker comes in 4 years.
disagree. take my field. development. if permits stop or grind even slower than they are now, even wealthy contractors and developers will be hurt, home prices will go up..it will impact across the economy if the gears of gubmnt grind even slower. decreased efficiency, decreased gdp, uncertainty, down market.
