We can't get proper service from fed agencies now. WTH do people think is going to happen when you lose all those experienced employees?

SSA is sitting at record low staffing as is with 20% eligible for retirement. Good luck getting the government to answer a phone for the next four years. I don’t think people realize just how bad this can turn out for the country. Most federal jobs require advanced education and years of experience in the field. Good luck replacing those skills. Jobs like mathematician, actuary, scientist, accountant, engineer, etc. The feds don’t put a sign in the window recruiting $14/hr fry cooks and you can’t just restock employees at will. The Feds fund just about anything you can think of from schools to healthcare. The poor rural communities that voted for this are going to get a real education in why voting for this guy was voting against their own interests. His tax plan from his first go didn’t benefit them and the damage coming will take a decade or more to undo.

 

I know two federal employees that would disagree with you. Each have over 20 years experience in government for different departments. Both have been super frustrated with the hiring of unqualified and unmotivated employees. The HR departments for both of their departments have been a joke for years, can’t get through without jumping hoops and when you do, very little help. Hiring employees who can not even do a “work” sample properly when applying for a government job, but being hired anyway, thus putting their workload on the very few who can actually do the work. I hope they clean house and dramatically reduce the number of employees they now have. Covid made it worse, allowing already unmotivated employees to pretend working at home, while a handful actually “work”. It’s a jobs program that certainly doesn’t benefit us taxpayers.

 

I think you guys are the ones with skid marks, trying to keep up with our Great President

 

After the deadline, they will announce that the departments are all moving to places outside of DC — move on your own. Moving expenses are not paid. The purge will be in stages.

 

Citizens are next? ( I don't really care for trains)

Govt jobs hard to replace….

 

Government contractors. Some roles can and maybe should be privatized. But efficiency and reduction of the Federal government sits with the purse in Congress. It’s an interesting strategy. Make government inefficient and bad with sabotage so the citizens no longer like it.

Nobody has to “make” govt inefficient.
It is by its very definition.

 

So inflation and unemployment will be going up.

I'm sure some would like to have a one line item federal budget: defense. Everything else eliminated.

 

I guess what they say is true, ignorance is bliss. Just your few replies have shown me how little you understand about what the Federal Government and its people do for the American public. Did you volunteer to live out of a hotel room for a month and a half during the holidays to help the lives destroyed by the flooding of the southern Appalachians? We did. I’m guessing not and instead you sent your prayers. Enjoy your dirt roads, fording rivers, explosive healthcare costs, unfunded schools, and watching the lower half of your community riot when critical services are shut off. All necessary because citizens and churches failed to help their communities. It will be even more fun when you or your loved ones ingest poisons in your food and water that would normally be stopped by hard working government employees. But hey, the billionaires are partying with the lack of thought voters have demonstrated. When you see every billionaire in the U.S. standing in the White House smiling on tv, know that is exactly how Russia and other corrupt governments work. What a true red blooded American you must be…

Finally, make sure you tell the next veteran you see that you’re glad their lazy ass isn’t on our tax rolls any longer.

.....I'm just going to hope, insist that is, that in4-8 years President AOC fire every single person hired during the Felony Don Administration. Judges too, if legal. Screw it, judges too, legal or not. People can sue to reverse illegal stuff.

I'm going to expect every law to be broken, maybe there will even be some mega-donor who gets to personally hire the replacement personnel.
