Now everyone who came to this board solely to slam Golden and compare him to convicted rapists before ANY evidence was out, come back here and take your lumps. Fair is fair.

It's amazing how little the Alligator is changed from what it was in my day (UF '82). I'm quite serious. They used to do the EXACT same things - smear, innuendo, "I'm just asking questions here" BS and an editorial stance that made Marx blush. I was looking through the archives to show my kids one of the editions that had my picture on the front page/headline story and I re-read stories that, in our day, we knew were BS and trash but seriously presented by "journalists."

    ThxJeff.
Doesn't sound like a valid complaint to any of us.
Sounds like a religious political attack time. Also doesn't sound like coeds. Sounds like an organization that has serious anger sent their hit squad after Todd. I hope these get a taste of justice after the season.

Well the reason these protections/processes exist is because there actually are scumbags out there who either prey on women (or men in the OSU wrestling scandal) or make the workplace untenable. Those in positions of power could use their position to lord over their victims or use the mechanisms of power to retaliate (i.e have the victim fired for daring to complain).

Obviously you don’t want people taking advantage of a process designed to protect legitimate victims of abuse/harassment. Doing that actually harms the process, which in turn harms those legitimate victims. In cases where it’s blatantly false or even a conspiracy I think you absolutely do consider extreme measures like criminal charges or expulsion/retraction of degrees. Of course we don’t know those motivations, a message board poster suggested it’s because of a religious angle, and Todd’s lawyer cited an “agenda”. I assume the alligator writers just thought they had a scoop and were taken for a ride.

I know it's a message board in America so it's primed for pot shots, but nobody knows the specifics here. We can attempt to draw conclusions and guess at motives, but we have no clue. Why don't we stop attempting to eat our own and get back to the season at hand? Let this play out as it will.

I wholeheartedly agree in protecting the victim and maintaining anonymity when the accused is actually guilty of something - but after it is discovered/proven that there was zero evidence and the accuser had an agenda that almost ruined someone's life, then all bets are off. The accuser should be exposed for all to see. False accusers should be known, so that people can avoid them in the future. How they can almost ruin someone's life and face zero responsibility or accountability for doing so is completely one-sided and quite frankly deplorable.

Hey Ranger- 87 grad here and I said the exact same thing on these boards (Probably in this thread.)
I said I had no idea about the truth here- but I did know to never trust the Alligator.
I saw firsthand (as a UF track team member) how they had a "reckless disregard for the truth."

And journalism "standards" such as they are have gotten even worse since the 80s.
So yes- never trust that publication.

Just FTR, I wasn't specifically targeting you (or any poster).

And also just FTR, I'm not absolving anyone from anything in this case. I just don't want to see us go at each other with little to no information to base any attacks.

    I've said my piece now.

Related question: I wonder if Ingram signs now?

ESPN quoted this attorney but didn’t specify whether she was the accusers’ attorney. Her name is Karen Truszkowski. Looks like she specializes in Title IX. She’s out of Michigan. Either she’s the accusers’ attorney or said his behavior was “questionable” without having all the details or she was some kind of adviser. Anyway, seems this is her bread and butter as a defense lawyer.

She represents someone so I immediately discount her quote and position as biased. In fact, her quote is "questionable." See how easy that is? Sounds somewhat dark but means little.

That was exactly my take. It looks like she’s dedicated her life to this, so maybe wants to see something that isn’t there. It’s also good for business.

no worries...and good question. I think with the state of our program - if he signs great, if not we'll go out and get someone else. Gators Basketball stock has to be very high right now with recruits

One of these platforms apparently has vanishing messages that disappear like 5 seconds after being opened. The first one you got, you may not have time to screenshot, but if it was habitual, as implied, there’s no way they wouldn’t have screenshot any of them. It notifies the sender that they were screenshot, but they wouldn’t be able to do anything about you now having that record in your possession.
