No one posting on these boards sans maybe one or two actual football coaches is qualified. Something many here forget from time to time. I for one appreciate the reminder.
Knowles went to Pedo State because he doesn’t get along with Larry Johnson (OSU DL coach) so Ryan Day told him he was free to leave. Pedo State was the highest bidder, and it really doesn’t matter. James Franklin is a coward and a fraud and will never win a national title no matter what coaches and players are there. Some of you need to relax. We hired a safeties coach. The “co-DC” title means nothing other than a smart way to avoid paying a buyout.
To me it was a boss move. Is he now the highest paid DC though? Yes, ton of money and with it comes the pressure to be worth it. Will be interesting to see what our lower salaried DCs produce vs OSU's. Maybe end of next season Napier looks Boss?
I’m not sure when overpaying for staff became a “Boss Move.” To me it’s a waste of a million a year that could be used for talent acquisition.
We've been saying they have ridiculous salaries since the 70s when they actually started making enough money to get a living out of it
The teams winning the championship have been overpaying the entire time, but it is what it is. Pretty much the teams spending the most money are winning the most games.
I get what you’re saying Wanne, but also working to their advantage are the facts that: 1) those teams have been doing this for a very long time, including before it became “legal” for everybody to pay players, and 2) those teams have been averaging 10+ win seasons over the past decade while we’ve been averaging 7.7 win seasons, with a bunch of 6s and even a 4 thrown in In just our 3rd season under Billy, and our 1st winning season in 4 years, we have zero momentum compared to Ohio State, Bama,Georgia, LSU, and the rest of those teams throwing multi-millions at coordinators. We are still digging out of a hole. Winning helps recruiting too
You know, I totally agree skink. I have my patience and I don't expect too much. I guess I'm just stating the obvious.
When it's warm, I tried to go out a couple times a month if the weather permits, but if it's more than 2 feet I'm not going. My buddy has a 32 foot Albemarle and we fish his boat quite often. Ive got a 21 foot center console and I don't like to run that out there in the cold. Life jacket 40 miles off shore Is a scary proposition in the winter
You aren’t wrong to stay in on those days. My brother and I tried to run out to K-tower one winter day with seas forecast at 1-2. We were about three miles out when the first wave broke over the bow. We fought rough seas the entire way back in to protected waters. Stay safe and tight lines!
