Obviously a relief and great news for Coach Golden and his family, especially knowing that it was false accusations. Hopefully he continues to pursue the defamation lawsuit that was part of his official statement some time ago.

Easy to say move on, but I'm sure as a professional he will try his best and also balance trying to keep his family and the team and staff in order. He's done a heck of a job of staying the course from what we can see. Hope his family can find some closure as time goes on.

The Independent Fla Alligator may not be so independent in the future once that Tampa attorney gets done with them.

They showed zero. They didn’t want to allow their phones to be examined. Throwing vicious accusations was their goal. Interesting how it took only minutes before some of our finest posters ( allegedly) turned this into a Scott Stricklin should get the metaphorical death sentence.
I am just an old fan of UF, first game in 1960 homecoming against Tulane, with five family members as alums or currently enrolled at UF. There are so many awesome, informed UF posters. who are a pleasure to engage.
It is surprising, even here, especially here where the boards at this site and several others are bombarded by vicious anti UF posts, anti administration, anti Coach posts at the first notice of alleged wrong doing.
Facts? We don’t need no stinking facts. Hunting season on our own program. I suggest that if a member of your own family ran afoul of any law or code of behavior, most might honestly admit that sad truth. They would take no joy in writhing in that pain.
    So, why do we?

Astute observation on your part. If you click the link I had on my post, you will see a picture of a 10-year-old kid. In other words, I was making fun of Todd looking so young.

I worked at a place where three "ace" female employees hatched a plot to accuse a manager they didn't like of sex harassment. Total fiction. One of them even volunteered to be the "victim." This vs. a family man with two young children. One of the plotters later had an attack of the guilts and told the manger what they had cooked up. Fortunately for him, they didn't carry it out.

Truly heinous for persons, especially and allegedly students, or recent students, to engage in what is tantamount to criminal
    behavior IMO toward coach Golden.

It must be a relief to him and his family.
Heck, it's a relief to me.

I don't think we have heard the end of this saga.

If these were indeed UF students that created this falsehood, then the university would have grounds to strip them of their degree(s) under the Code of Conduct:

    (j) False Information.
    1. Furnishing false or misleading information to the University or to any University Official. This includes but is not limited to forging documents or other data or omitting facts that are material to the purpose for which the information is submitted.

    (8) Withdrawing or Revoking a Degree.
    (a) Withdrawing. A degree may be withdrawn after a Student has graduated where a violation of Student Conduct Code or Student Honor Code occurred before graduation in the following circumstances:

    1. The Student had a pending Student Conduct Code or Student Honor Code allegation or charge that was not resolved prior to the Student’s graduation.

    2. The University becomes aware of an alleged violation of the Student Conduct Code or Student Honor Code that took place before the Student graduated or received a degree from the University.

The Student will receive the degree once the matter is resolved and any Sanctions (where appropriate) are completed unless the Sanction is expulsion, in which case the degree may be revoked.

    (b) Revoking. A former Student may have their degree revoked under the provisions above, which include but are not limited to a determination through the Student Honor Code or the Student Conduct Code process that a violation occurred and resulted in expulsion, or upon a finding of research misconduct under Regulation 1.0101.

Alligator story on the home page makes no mention of the paper's major role in all this. C'mon. Nut up. The Washington Post survived Janet Cooke, you can handle it.

There needs to be repercussions for false accusers (and their lawyers and in this case The Alligator) or this type of BS will continue til the end of time. You almost ruin someone’s life, put him and his family through a public and private blender, while you maintain anonymity and carry on with your life unscathed. We need to take a hard look as a society at who the real victim is here.

“No evidence found”? How TF did this even pass the smell test. The accuser, The Alligator and the Lawyers should all be held accountable. Publicly.
