Because it shows that the Chinese Communist Party knew where it came from, hid it, and then lied to the world about it. They are culpable for the costs the world incurred to fight this virus.

That was due to the "wall" issue where the FBI believed they could not share information with the CIA that they were using for law enforcement purposes. That issue no longer exists.

Quite simple, if China was tinkering around with it and it got out they could have warned the world and worked together to have more effective treatments sooner.

Further more they could have been more up front as the virus spread through their cities and to the world.

Of course they wouldn’t do that give the massive backlash they would have received.

    Hmmm
I’m struggling to believe that CoVid 19 came from a lab in Wihan that was working with the CoVid virus. Much more likely it came from the wet market .. yeah.. that makes sense.
And the issue isn’t how many it killed the issue is why our govt went to extraordinary lengths to keep that info out of social media.
And who was funding gain of function research at the lab that likely leaked the virus?
Those things should be brought to light.

People who still think this didn't originate in a lab...

It is a big issue to some of us "right wing nuts" because 5 years ago when when we suggested the CIA might be covering up this information we were called conspiracy theorist around here.

We know one thing for sure, the right level of response was not to tell the American people that it would "just disappear." (While privately telling Bob Woodward, apparently the one American who needed to know, that it was going to be really bad.)

At the time, I thought Trump got it right blaming China. But we saw the narrative shift. Not an original thought, but I suspected he was told / shown / rattled by the implications of a world entirely against China and what that could mean to a global conflict. Also, he may have been shown how complicit the US was with gain of function research and that it would be a dead end.

    It emerged in Wuhan.

    What emerged in Wuhan ?

    Panic.

Panic arose in Wuhan and it engulfed the world.

And those who think fauci was actually trying to offer good medical advice fell for the propaganda. A few (seems like more than normal on too hot but this is a place that can skew easy) still believe the BS they peddled to this day.

    Yep!!
And how many times were we told this was completely rubbage?
How many social media posts were taken down ( at the behest of a complicit govt who knew exactly where this came from)?

This virus came from a lab in Wuhan. A lab that was funded for gain of function by the US. Gain of function and funding Fauchi knew about and repeatedly lied about.
I guess we know why he got a pardon.

That is a perplexing attitude. In one scenario, you have a family of four killed when a meteor strikes their car while driving; in the other, the same family is killed when struck by a drunk driver who managed to flee the scene mostly unharmed and hide all evidence he was ever there.

There are some similarities, sure: in both cases, the family is just as dead, nothing can bring them back, and I’ll even grant that both were accidents, since the driver did not intend to hurt anyone.

But you ask in a shrill HRC tone, “What difference, at this point, does it make?!” I think the difference speaks for itself, but I’ll answer anyway. The first scenario, while tragic, is a classic case of “shit happens.” The second involves criminal negligence and cover-up, and it is not unreasonable to demand accountability.

I can understand not believing the lab leak theory, though it requires willfully disbelieving some of the evidence. I can also understand not wanting to believe the lab leak theory, given the implications if it were true. Finally, I can even understand (though I don’t like it) why we would decide it was in our long-term strategic interest to not pursue the CCP for this and just let it go.

But not seeing the difference between a natural outbreak and a man-made disaster that was subsequently covered up — that I will never understand.

I wonder what it will take to have a high level of confidence?

That's what Trump should have said, instead of saying it would "just disappear," and when it didn't, to try some bleach. He should have said, "There's no such thing as a virus. I read it on Too Hot."

Trump and I were practically on the same page. He was undoubtedly correct when he said if we’d stop testing for it, it would go away. A fraudulant diagnostic was the only thing sustaining the perception of a pandemic.

It's a shame to see two million Americans die from a delusion. I guess the real thing would have killed twice as many.

COVID origin - why are you guys so fixated on this? i.e. “ Move along folks nothing to see.”

California fires “ Why are you guys Complaining about the response so early?”

I guess Conservatives missed the seminar about when it is appropriate to call BS. We look forward to to hearing the formula.
